Question: Why do people post with Alts

Hmm… posting on alts isn’t a huge issue, as long they don’t try to get mouthy about the things they claim to have done on the characters they inexplicably can’t post on.

For the non-classic forums, people post on alts so people cant look up their Raider dot IO or achievements and say:" YOU HAVENT DONE X YET, SO YOUR OPINION ID INVALID!!!

In this age of speech regulation many people are afraid that they accidentally write something that leads to a ban.
So they have a separate free account for forum posting so that even if they make a mistake they don’t get problems with their actual account.

So that is it the simple reason why people post with level 10 characters. Good old fear.

Because I like having some privacy, I don’t wanna be in game and get some rage whisper by someone who got all offended over an opinion I had. Considering people think its okay to dox and ruin lives over opinions, I think I made the right call.

It’s still incredibly easy for someone with knowledge of the API to to find your characters. The only way you can get around this is by posting on another account.

This was my character back in Vanilla, so seemed appropriate.

Plus I don’t want you guys to see I started playing retail again and am actually having fun.

This is basically the same for me. My account has been inactive for so long that I can’t even link the armory to my main anymore or any of my higher level characters. Although for some really odd reason besides this guy, I AM able to select and post on a level 48 Warrior that I have on my account but I cannot log onto him in game without an active sub (which I don’t have), so that’s an anomaly. But yea, without an active sub my account is basically reverted to a starter account maxxed at level 20…and I can only have 10 gold! /facepalm

at least I can still ride around on all my mounts.

I post on alts because this is the troll warrior I played in vanilla, he has all the titles (general) and achieves.

My new main demon hunter doesn’t.

They are too afraid of their epeen reputation being damaged.

Or, just submit a ticket to recover the account if you still have the information. Just don’t tell Blizzard you sold the account as that will get the account locked for good.

Yikes! Far fewer options than i realised. Well, at least i can see her pretty face again.
