Question: Why do people gank and then camp?

Let me start out by saying that this is not a whine thread, as so many people like to jump to that conclusion.

So, I went to Hillsbrad Foothills earlier and saw some low levels. I flew by them and considered killing them as that is what everyone does (or say they do), but they were so helpless! I rooted them and just let them look at me and I helped them out by throwing leaves and mushrooms on them. Earlier than that though, I was leveling a warrior and a hunter killed me while I was questing. He then camped my corpse for 15 minutes, and I sent Cari here to kill him but he wasn’t there.

So, how are some people so cruel to kill and camp someone for so long, when I feel so bad for them?

i gank because i once was that low level noob, skipping in the hay fields of westfall picking flowers only to be one shotted by a undead rogue that camped my body for a hour.

I’m only a part-time ganker though, i usually let the little ones go.

I can tell you why I have ganked. Because I was ganked many times before.

And thus the cycle continues.

I have PvP enabled yet I don’t do it. That’s not an excuse.

I feel like this is accurate.

I guess that’s true.

And so you hide from a fair fight while killing someone who can’t fight back, eh?

I kill all Alliance no matter what. I don’t care about their ilvl, level, race, class, etc. If you’re Alliance and I see you, you will die.

I never said I hide from fair fights. I usually don’t even attack unless someone else engages first.

And I really don’t ever gank. However, I would sometimes because when I first started playing I was constantly being ganked. This made me hate the alliance and so when I got to a max level and whenever I saw alliance I would just kill them. It just kinda felt like fun faction rivalry. And 9/10 times I leave lowbies alone.

Now for people who camp and purposely go out to gank, I have no idea. They are bored and feel like being an annoying jerk.

Ultimately there will always be a segment of the player population that derive pleasure form ruining someone else’s day.

With that said, with the advent of Warmode, if you choose to turn it on, you accept the risk of being ganked and have no legit reason to complain. Yes you want that XP bonus… well that bonus comes with baggage, namely the chance for pvp and/or ganking to occur. Don’t like it? Turn off warmode.

Because it gives them lane advantage and a lead in the early game. Oh, in WoW? Because it’s an mmorpg and if you play with warmode on chances are people are going to attack.

Because smurfing is fun. PVP is never supposed to be fair, it’s a ware out there, so you either kill or be killed man. It’s either steak on your plate or mine, and I’m not ready to starve yet so…
