I know that Shadow Hunters an amalgamation of Priests and Shamans. Which class are they most like, though?
In Hearthstone, Vol’jin gets described as a shadow priest with more voodoo. Is that essentially who Shadow Hunters are? Can it also he taken the other way around?
I’m asking since I want to play the closest thing to a Shadow Hunter for a Troll character. I’m leaning to a Shaman. Big fan of Vol’jin and Rokhan!
PS: I know Witch Doctors are separate from Shadow Hunters. In the lore, though, every Shadow Hunter was once a Witch Doctor.
Closet to Shaman, the class in Warcraft 3 which is what he was based on has a majority of Shaman based abilities.
Healing Wave (Chain Heal)
Hex
Serpent Ward (Searing Totem)
Big Bad Voodoo (Not really an ability any class has)
Obviously grabbing abilities from a game, but the problem is your “Hero” characters are always a mix of everything.

Right like the Crypt Lords didn’t have any Rogue abilities, but Anub’arak is some Rogye Hearthstone card.
Doubting the validity of Hearthstone a wee bit.
Yeah HS is a bit of a mixed bag. Some of the cards make sense with some class themes, others are a bit weird or is based on an ability around the class.

Well there is ragnaros, lightlord. Hearthstone doesnt follow any lore beyond it being Warcraft based. There is even 5 different galakronds.
