I haven’t gotten any spam mail messages. Rarely you’ll see a gold seller in a city but it’s nothing like WoW. Enix publishes a weekly report of how accounts they’ve banned for RMT. They are also generous with 48 hour bans for people who are jerks in their equivalent of LFG (duty roulette). Blizzard would benefit greatly from following their example with WoW.
They do, not ramapaging like other places and possibly here but they
get smacked down pretty fast, yeah. I got maybe 2-3 whispers from bots and I have played since beta 2.0. Go for it.
I don’t blame anyone from jumping ship that is retail.
I’m currently playing FF14 and so far I haven’t seen any sellers but I don’t spend much time in cities since I’m still leveling.
I’m having a lot of fun and have made the decision to keep my WoW account unsubbed and not play 9.1 and stick with FF to hopefully get up to snuff in time for the next expansion.
WoW will always be special to me because of the years I’ve played but Blizzard and this community make it easier to come to this decision.
Give it a try. It’s free for the first 60 levels which is a good chunk.
i’ll read that if you pay me
Psh, There are two people in the world right here. People who found reading easy and got good. Then people who see a few paragraphs and just don’t even want to because they arent interested in the first place. I however can read twice that much in under a minute because that’s just me. You don’t want to read it? Okee. But if you think i have the means to pay you, I cant pay myself.
i did read it which is why i liked it, i was just joshing lol
woah, someone flagged it tho
I do have that effect. I get bored and im bipolar on ADD meds and no one to chit chat with, always ends in that type of “joshing” effect.
It really depends on what you personally find rewarding. Everyone values different things after all.
FFXIV puts it’s main story questlines as the priority above any and all other things. The type of player who feels they need to rush to max level because endgame is “where the fun begins” is almost certainly going to have a bad time IMO. Worse still, since the main story is the game, if they pay for a story skip, they are consciously paying to not play the game.
If immersing yourself into a heavy story centered game is rewarding to you, and you aren’t looking to rush to max level, then you’ll probably have a great time.
As far as player progression goes, there are lots of opportunities for it, but it also depends on what you consider progression. If we’re talking gear, then gearing is very easy while leveling. Quests mostly take care of every slot, and vendors or crafting can easily fill any gaps.
At max level for a given expansion and content tier, you generally get a a decent set of gear from hitting max level on a specific job (class), and beyond that can upgrade via crafting (crafting can make some extremely good gear and, at some stages of an expansion, crafted gear can even be BiS for some jobs), farming tomestones (a currency that’s rewarded from a variety of activities), dungeons and raids (as per WoW).
The raid gear tends to be the best gear but the tomestone gear is very close and the crafted gear is equal to or a half step behind that depending on the stage of the expansion. Ultimately, there’s a number of ways to get geared and the gear you get from each path is fairly close even if the raid gear is technically “the best”.
If we’re talking character progression in the sense of things like talents, FFXIV doesn’t really have that. Each class is its own self contained thing, but you can level every class on the same character. That includes the crafters and gatherers which are their own self contained classes as well. Many consider it a form of player progression to level multiple (if not all) classes so as to gain flexibility in what role or playstyle they have available depending on the content they are doing.
PvP is… not a particularly compelling part of FFXIV to put it nicely. If you’re looking for a game with a robust pvp ecosystem and well developed pvp game play, you probably want something other than FFXIV.
I mean final fantasy has their own forums maybe you should try there if you don’t want to deal with jerks that are sick of all the final fantasy questions
I’m only level 63 and I haven’t used the party finder, so far I have only seen a gil(gold) seller once in a while.
unlike wow. They actually do something about sellers.
I’d say absolutely.
I’d say so. FFXIV has a system similar to the old justice/valor points system of wow. It’s pretty great actually.
Yes. There are no borrowed power or systems in FF.
Jesus you sound like a women
Yikes lol I think it came back? o.O
Alternatively if you try FF and don’t like it and come back to wow, play on a different server than stormrage and you won’t even notice carry sellers
My alts’ servers don’t have a trade chat lol
To people who are playing in FFXIV - are boosters or run sellers, pvp sellers, sellers of sellers in FFXIV?
Is 9.1 close but… I don’t know, I don’t feel WoW anymore - I feel like in some store in WoW - where someone wants to sell me something I don’t want.
My global ignore list has more than 2000 people - most of these are sellers.I like WoW, but… If FFXIV doesn’t have sellers I will give it a try.
Thanks for any help.
based
Good bye… will that mean you won’t be posting on the WoW forums anymore ?
And can I have your gold … please .
wouldn’t you be better asking on their forums or a ff reddit or something.
I’m only a lowly Level 15 Lancer, but running around Gridania and nearby areas, I have yet to see anyone spamming to sell anything. YMMV, of course, but that’s been my personal experience so far.
I’m enjoying FF XIV but I am not unsubbing from WoW for it. I enjoy aspects of both games and I can afford two subscriptions. They are significantly different from each other in many respects and to me, trying to say one is definitively better than the other is somewhat misleading, as that depends in large part in what you want to get out of your gaming time.
There are definitely no boosters because there’s no point. Leveling is actually fun in that game. There are Gil (gold) sellers, but you can right-click in their name to report them, and SE drops the ban hammer down quickly.
