Question on SL leveling

So I just reactivated account after being away for like 4 months… About to start into SL.

SO do I have to do the entire storyline through Ravendreth to be able to do all the lvl 60/end game stuff. Or can I solely level through Dungeon Queues and not do any of the “story”?

On your first character, you need to do the whole story. After you’ve done it once, you’re other characters get an option after you do the Maw Intro to turn on “Threads of Fate” which lets you skip the campaign quests and level however (and choose a covenant immediately.)

To add to Udiza, you do indeed have to do the entire campaign on one character, but also dungeons get locked out as you level up.

Are you talking about lower level dungeons? Once unlocked, Shadowlands dungeons don’t lock you out of them at a higher level. At least not that I’ve experienced.

During the initial campaign, Shadowlands dungeons get locked out as you level up. I realized this issue because I was outleveling the pace of the campaign and couldn’t do dungeons. For reference, I was 60 beginning of Ardenweald. Here’s a thread mentioning that problem

Yeah, I had that happen as well. Between herbalism and trying to do all the side stuff I was “unlocking” dungeons after I’d outleveled them and couldn’t queue for them.

They open back up again. I’m not sure if it’s when you hit 60 or finish the questing campaign.

Well that is interesting. I guess I was pretty close to where they wanted me to be on my first time through then, I didn’t even notice!

When you finish the campaign. And this is problematic because you’re stuck in a limbo. You’re too high level, gear scaling finally kicks in towards the end, you can’t do any WQs or any dungeons until you finish. It’s an incredibly painful experience.

Yeah, you probably were. I recommend people rush the campaign now, and do side quests if they’re level capped from proceeding to the next area (yeah, you can also be UNDER leveled!)
