Question on Rare Spawn times and server times

Ok ,I am going to try and ask this properly:

  • RareMob1 spawns every 3-4 hours that drops a mount

  • The zone it spawns in has been “triggered” for 2 minutes. Like I log in and every mob in zone and around where the RareMob1 boss spawns, NPC timer is at 2 mins.

So does that mean the RareMob1 timer is now set at 2-3 hours before it spawns again?

or does that mean that the 2 minutes the area you logged in at is now adding to where it stopped previously?

Jeesh ,I hope that makes sense.

(I’m asking specifically for Elusive Quickhoof but I know it is relevant for many other rare spawns)

Unless you’re sitting on the spawn point waiting for the rares to actually spawn, all respawn timers are pointless to try and follow due to sharding. You may login and kill a rare, log out for the 2-3 hours it takes to respawn, and login to a completely different shard than before so the respawn could be whenever.

You could also just be camping the rares and suddenly be shifted to a new shard.
