Ok, before I ask: I understand that any type of key repeater software or programs that automate gameplay are all bannable and not allowed.
I used to 5 box about 4 years ago - and decided I want to 5 box again ONLY for Mount and MOG farming on my weekly and daily runs. I used iSBoxer iirc. Alt-Tabing 5 instances is pretty rough… though since it is only for mounts and mog’s it’s pretty easy to manage, just extremely tedious. The boxing software I used before allowed me to setup all 5 instances on one screen so all 5 fit on one screen and then whatever window I wanted to control I just sent my mouse there and clicked and it became active and also throttled FPS on non active windows.
I am Assuming that is still allowed, can anyone recommend a program that does the screen management and wont get me in any trouble?
The game has settings now where it will throttle itself when it’s in the background, so you wouldn’t need any special software for that.
I think if you’re running multiple clients on one box and just switching between them the way you would any other programs, so that keyboard & mouse only control one client at a time, then that’s allowed. But I haven’t multi boxed since back in BC/Wrath.
So really you have 2 options. Using an ingame overlay so all instances of wow are technically open at the same time on the one monitor openbox is a good way to do that. Failing that you can always use a screen splitter
Couldn’t you just run in windowed mode? If all you’re doing is running old dungeons & raids I don’t think you really need to be full screen.

Pretty much. You can be in windowed mode. You get the little bar at the top but eh not too big a deal.
The problem with giving software recommendations is nobody really knows what’s allowed and what isn’t. The official policy is:
Multiboxing, or playing multiple World of Warcraft accounts at once, is not a violation of our End User License Agreement. Please note, however, that use of all software or hardware mechanisms used to mirror commands to multiple World of Warcraft accounts at the same time, or to automate or streamline multiboxing in any way may result in account penalties.
Which seems pretty straightforward, except for "to automate or streamline multiboxing in any way.
What constitutes streamlining? Nobody really knows. While certain rules in the EULA are cut and dry, many (including this) aren’t. They prefer the policies to be vaguely written so that people can’t “lawyer speak” their way around specifics. In other words, it’s completely up to their discretion.
I think Tureja’s answer is probably the safest given all of this. Run in windowed mode and have them open side by side, clicking to whichever window is required.
Wow great feedback thank you.
Question for those tech experts:
If I say run one login at 10 graphics setting in full screen mode, does that require same graphics card strain and CPU strain as if I ran that one login in windowed mode that takes up like 1/4th of my screen?
Just not sure how computers work that well with this stuff.
