Does anyone know if MMR is shared across alt characters, and if so, do you have a reference? I’m trying to understand why my alt, on RBGs when everyone has rating 0, we get matched with MMR 1200ish, want to know if my MMR from my main char is influencing it or not.
it is not shared
me and my other toons
i will believe it only if i see you posting on a toons called reference
That’s because almost no one is at 0 for more than a few games. You win like 90 rating for a win and lose nothing. The average lowest group queueing will be around 1200.
In other words, 1200 basically is zero. You used to start out at 1500 in TBC.
nobody starts at 0 mmr i think typically between 1200-1500 is default mmr
if you’re lower it’s because you went negative from the start
I have a friend link this to me:
“We’re pulling out the concept of Prestige and just leading with Honor levels that are something that will increase in an open-ended way. If you’re familiar with how leveling works in Overwatch, I think that is something very similar. It is, that your Honor level, and in consequence MMR, in World of Warcraft is an account-wide level for the first time, not character specific, and it just reflects how much PVP you’ve done – all the rewards that were available through the Prestige system in Legion will be available going forward, just through playing the game, participating in PVP, leveling up.”
But he did not share with me who said it or the website. That’s the reason I asked.
MMR isn’t shared though because your first 10 games on any toon are going to be your placement games to see where they’ll place you going forward.
Just think of 1200 as 0 because that’s so low anyway, it doesn’t really matter at that point.
was doing a rated bg for honor farm in a 0cr group and some cutie said after we lost well guys they were 1100mmr so I think we did pretty good considering we’re all 0
