Question on Hunter pets?

Hi everyone, I just have a few questions on hunters pets, I’ve tried scouring the internet and can’t find anything on this, especially anything up to date.

Does the race of your hunter affect the size of your hunter pet?
Does your level affect the size as well?
Is your pet bigger if you’re BM or is that a myth?

I would love to make a hunter and want my pet to be huge overall, and in relation to me. I love that feel of having a hunter pet that’s huge compared to your character.

Assuming same level and pet, would a tauren hunter’s Wolf be the same size as an undead hunter’s Wolf? And up to what point does pet size scale with level, if that IS how it works?

And finally, if there’s any undead hunters out there, do you regret making one? :3

Thank you all!

No. The specific model used affects this

Your pet’s level affects the size, not your own level, but due to how pet levels work nowerdays its the same. Level 10 pets are noticeably smaller than level 120 ones.

BM can tame larger pet species, but it is all tied to the individual models.

You’re going to want to tame a few very specific models then. Noticeably large ones include a caterpillar in Pandaria called Chibee who’s larger than most other caterpillars. You also want to stay away from frogs as their model is smaller than average

Pets are all a standard size afaik. You can get a glyph that makes them smaller. I don’t believe there is anything that makes them bigger other than the temporary effect of BMs Beastial Wrath.

hunter pets do not change size based on the race however you can alter their size with a glyph which is purely a cosmetic thing it doesn’t affect any stats or ability only make them appear slightly smaller

While there are many of us who would love this you would find that having a huge pet can be very detrimental to the aspect of grouping and instances.
When the taming of Cleft-hooves first came to WoW in The Burning Crusade they were quite large and became a reason for not inviting Hunters to an instance!

I find big pets rather annoying, they get in the way of stuff you want to click.

N.U.T.Z. is a lovely small robo squirrel and I love him on my new goblin. lol.

It was bothering my hunter, a lot, when they added the new “hati” tame looks. She made both her pets variations of Hati looks, but was really bothered that her “main” one was smaller than the second pet she had out.

Then I figured it out; She had used that shrink glyph thing on that unique white saddled clefthoof, you can get from an orc area in WoD. Since it was one of my pet picks, on my bar, I had to actually use a dust of disappearance to remove that glyph (just moving around the pet order, in my stable, didn’t do the trick.)

I had a question along these lines. If you tame a normal black wolf say the “Vilebranch Wolf Pup” and then you tame a rare like “Snarler” would Snarler be bigger? Or since they are the same model would they end up the same size.

Follow up question does elite make a difference?

If you want your pet to be huge - roll a Gnome BM hunter and get one of those gigantic bugs in Tanaris. I have one and for some reason he scales bigger than a flippin’ rhino (I haven’t used him a a long time though so they may have fixed it).

There’s also Kibler’s Bits. Increases the size of your pet for 20 minute.

Well its not so much that I want a bigger pet. I was more wondering if there is a difference between rare and elite models and normal models and if it is worth tracking down that rare if there is an easier beast with the same model available.

No, there is no real difference between rares, elites or normal mobs in regards to stats, size, etc… I’m guessing that is what you are asking. A good hunter pet site is petopia [I’m not sure if links are allowed, so I will just let you google it]. If you are thinking of a particular pet, it will show you all the pets that match the same skin within it’s category.

No, no and myth

The only pet that grows with you that I know of is the Warlocks voidwalker and the Mages water pet

Chibee the caterpillar is the only rare that’s larger than its normal species. Everything else is scaled to the same

No.

Yes. 1% per level, from 10 to 60, iirc.

Bestial wrath used to increase their size when active, I don’t believe that’s the case anymore, but I haven’t played BM in awhile.

There’s a consumable called ‘Kiblers Bits’ that increases pet size considerably.

I can’t say if it’s a myth or not, but the last Hunter I dated had a fairly normal-sized pet.

This is something I was wondering about.

My pets are big on my Vulpera hunter but look super puny and pathetic onmy Worgen.
