Why does it lock you out of queueing up another spell till the animation is finished?
Its an instant cast with Brain Freeze
It triggers the gcd, its not after the animation… Its just like icelance and all your other instants…
Yeah, it’s still on the gcd even if it’s instant cast.
Frostbolt i can queue up another right away. Is that not on gcd?
By the time it’s done casting the gcd is over with. Like Zyzyl said, if you cast Ice Lance it does the same.
Hard cast Flurry like Frostbolt and you’ll see its the same thing.

Cast time Spell first, followed by instant cast spell to chain them both.
The question that should be asked is why can’t you queue abilities with arcane missiles
GCD prevents it.
Always cast it at the end of a previous cast (like frostbolt or glacial spike) and you won’t notice it.
Frostbolt -> flurry -> lance
Or
Glacial Spike -> flurry -> lance
Or
Glacial Spike -> flurry -> frostbolt
It’s just not really meant to be cast by itself.
