Question on Bear form

So just a quick question, does gear matter for when a druid switches into Bear form? I don’t really understand how that works.

I mean bear form just increases armor and stamina. Most druids just use it as an “oh s***” button to artificially increase their tankiness for a short period to help mitigate incoming damage. As for stats affecting bear form, I believe only guardian benefits from that as their mastery increases their health pool as well as increases the overall effectiveness of Frenzied Regeneration.

Like 50% of the instances I have seen recently are Bear tanks… so not quite sure what you mean. So the end form of Bear to tank is different based on each toons armor/Hp’s and level?

I meant like all the other druid specs, of course guardian druids will be in bear form 99% of the time. To clarify, gaurdian’s mastery increases their HP pools and healing taken, that is the only real difference between the other specs and how stats would affect bear form. You could argue versatility mildly increases the effectiveness of bear form, but since that’s a flat % on DR regardless of form it doesn’t really matter as much.

Crap, I am totally confused… Obviously you know what you are talking about… I just need to read about it somewhere that lays out the mechanics.

TLDR: yes, gear effects you while shapeshifted

While in bear form, your armor is increased by 220% and your Stamina by 25%.
Both those stats are derived from the gear you are wearing.

Ahhhhh… got it. Thank you.

To add, Crit will continue to function as normal, but I don’t think haste will lower the cd of mangle or thrash unless you’re an actual tank.
