Have you guys been getting these notices that you now need to connect an authenticator app to play certain sections of the game? Also, why is it so complex to do? That app has horrible ratings as well, so I just am wondering if I am the only one that has had issues with this, and what all your thoughts are? Thank you.
(For the Horde)
Hey there! I have long had the authenticator app so have never run into it locking out parts of the game, its very simple to do once you get a hang of the steps, the initial start up and getting acquainted are the only time its a workload. The app itself is just… an authenticator app. Nothing good or bad to add here. I press play when it asks for authorisation and go play.
You shouldn’t have activated the authenticator if you didn’t want to use it.
No I never get those messages.
I have not but I understand that is not the case for many others. Even switching phones. Blizzard’s own guidance isn’t always the most clear but if you poke around/search there’s written as well as visual assistance out there.
Because plenty others are in the same boat. Good luck.

they got my phone, my address, phone number, ccard details, get emailed a code to login
the authenticator app (not the battle.net ap) seems to unnecessary, that and the auth app (which never wants to work) is covered in advertising.

No, but I have been using the Authenticator App for as long as it has been available.

I think the issue was that I had to change phones to my older one, because the one I had it on got broken.
Authenticator app is super simple. Open it and hit approve.
And everyone should have an Authenticator on their account.
Ps- I’m confused by someone differentiating the Authenticator app from the battle net app. There’s two? I just use the battle net app for authentication.
whenever I expect battle.net to pop up a code it does nothing
where’s the authenticator hiding and why isn’t more obvious if there is one attached
and why if I’m logged into the battle.net app does it still prompt for authenticator code
If I can get a code sent to my email instead, what’s the point of the phone app?
genuine questions

I’m not even logged in on the battle net app. The only time I open it is when something needs to be authorized. It immediately pops up and I just click authorize.
Was just me I guess. seems to be working ok now.
got the pop up this time. probably just my slow as s phone taking all day to show the menu I needed to find.
I think there used to be a separate authenticator app, but it was discontinued and the consolidation the functionality into the BNet app a couple of years ago.
“The Battle.net Authenticator feature is now available in the Battle.net mobile app. The Battle.net Authenticator app will soon be removed from all app stores and will no longer be available for download—you will keep using the Battle.net Authenticator through the Battle.net mobile app.”
