This question is directed at people who actively ignore objective/don’t communicate in BGs. Can you help me understand what you get out of BGs? Do you just like to log in and play WoW matches like they’re team death match in Halo/CoD? Does the map matter at all to you or are you just looking to press buttons? Do basic tips like “pick up an orb / attack the EFC” tend to help you on the right track or do you genuinely not care?
When Queing Solo for a BG it’s all about the Solo experience and the goal is be on TOP of the Score board at the end. Which means leading in KB’s (most important) Damage and healing is okay and relevant too.
So if your team losses but you lead in KBs then you win. You owned it up and that is all that matters. They will tell stories about you across Azeroth. How there was this 1 player that even though his team sucked it took 4 of us to kill him and he dominated us.
It does matter and changes the strat drastically. Ideally winning can be important for the bonus reward especially right now. Good source of gold. So attacking EFC is great however I wouldn’t pick up the orb. That would mean they would focus me. I rather kill all the Orb carriers so that way I can lead on the Score board and win.
BGs are End game. The idea is to get BiS and Twink so you can farm up those KB’s and HK’s. That’s how winning is done. I got Tiger Blood.
Hope this helps
PS - In Classic KB’s are more important than winning. Since solo KB’s means you get 106 honor (uncertain of amount) If someone else attacks that target it’s split with them. So in AV fight mid and back capping or farming roads to bases will reward you with the most honor. I’m not sure if this applies to retail as it’s far less important.
Can’t get into the minds of rando BG baddies, but my guess is they are simply a combination of ignorant, unintelligent, and wasted AND they don’t care. They’re just there to do what they want to do.
What’s weirdest to me is why don’t they just queue skirmish, brawl, or even shuffle if all they want to do is kill and not bother with objectives, which is what sets BGs apart from deathmatch crap.
I don’t think the people you want to speak to are on this forum. We’re all pretty serious about PvP here!
Can’t speak to the general ignoring of objectives however some opponents may draw you to the fight or bring the fight to you enroute to an objective.
I at times find myself picking a 1v X simply for that reason.
The other is losing matches. At that point just get some good kicks in while taking the loss.
