Question for Horde in AV

Why do you guys turtle?

My guess would be, they waited half an hour or longer to play, so they want to actually play.

The reason they waited 30 min to play was because the horde group before them turtled for 30 min

Turtling and therefore actually killing Ally is a whole lot more fun than the two factions running past each other on mounts to the opposing base. Also, turtling results in more wins for the Horde. Keep up the crying because the mean Horde won’t just let you guys walk all over them for a free win!

I’m not trying to turtle, i’m just trying to grill.

Horde get more honor and, perhaps more importantly, Reputation for longer games. Additionally, most horde players just want to win in my experience.

The only way there’s a chance of that vs a premade, on a map completely imbalanced for Alliance, is to defend with everyone.

Well, I’ll give you a real non troll answer.

So, Alliance can make it to drek much faster than we can make it to van. Despite everyone saying just “use the back door” almost no horde do, and many more don’t even know about it. Plus, in the time it would take the masses to learn it and master it to make it effective it just isn’t practical.

So, since you all can get to drek faster our defense has to be sending back 15ish to wipe. Sometimes it works, in the times it doesn’t we have another few come back and wipe them out. However, by this time FWGY caps and you guys just spawn too fast to clear out and let us move on to O.

So, we have a turtle of sorts while the 15 or horde left pushing north very slowly whittle away what’s left for our eventual win.

Combine that with 15 minute queues, and the fact we don’t have to compete against allies for honor and there just isn’t the motivation for quick 7 minute losses to ally by not defending Drek and our southern towers.

Also, some of us like to PVP in PVP situations.

So just to recap:

  1. Ally get to Drek in the amount of time it takes for us to get to the GY right before your bridge. It’s just how the map works.

  2. We have to defend if we want to win

  3. We like to PVP during our PVP

You mean defend? Because it gives us time to kill LTs and COs, cap bunkers and mines, take back towers allies have tried capping, and most importantly: trigger Alliance like you that have no idea what a REAL turtle is.

Why do YOU guys zerg? Seriously, I’m more pissed off at my own idiot faction than the horde doing their job defending. Alliance is the ones that have to change, not horde. Grow up.

Turtle would mean we had no offense. Most of the wins I’ve been in have ~20 on defense and ~15 on offense. This is the way.

This argument kind of makes the rest of your statement obsolete. You’re saying there is an equal method to bypass most things but the reason you don’t is because the player base doesn’t want to learn it or those that do don’t want to teach it? .-.

I think this should be ya’lls reasoning and not even be worried or concerned about how people think of it.

The fact you have long queues and you’re fighting to win vs zerging to win is to me a much more enjoyable win/loss.

Fighting to protect or attack locations is not turtling, it’s strategy and makes the fight way more fun.

Forget the shortcuts, the zergs and others. I hope to run into more Horde ‘turtles’ in the future.

I don’t think that relying on a gimmicky wall jump that not every class can do reliably makes my argument obsolete.

In other words: Relying on something that isn’t an intentional part of the game to be able to compete at something just isn’t a good defense.

Having to very specifically wall jump and still fail frequently isn’t an equal method of playing. Neither is having to teach 1000s of other players to do a very specific, not well known (remember forums are a vocal minority) tactic.

That’s kind of ridiculous to void out the rest of the discussion based on that.

This is the reason. Let’s not pretend it’s about fun.

oooh i seen your turtles, Swifty and co zug zug all over it, and single pull drek and win

There’s a lot of pros and cons both sides have, yet most spend time with the Horse blinders on ignoring the other side and just focusing on what is or isn’t for them.

It is a strat but as you said not big on the Horde. Either way, it does render the ‘they can but we can’t’ out. Same with solo pulling vandar (mob pull).

“I” didn’t render your discussion void just noting the argument can with that reasoning to not learn it or do it. (I get it’s not as easy, but it is there.) If they shut out Alliances advantages, then that would leave Horde with their advantage only.

Turtle more though, I like the fights vs the afking.

I should point out I spend my first few minutes of each AV snowballing AFKers out the back portal.

I’ll miss the snowballs when they go.

Because they ThInK peavey pee is more important than ranks or items.

Does this really make sense to you, or are you trying to be funny?

because they are actually stupid
for some reason they think turtling and dragging a game out for 25+ min against premades is worth it

Oh no, not 25 minute games!!! How am I supposed to go AFK and not get booted before the game’s over?
