I am in need of a new desk chair. I weigh around 340 pounds and am 6,3. Looking for recommendations from others around my size who have had their chair for more than a year. (Every chair I have bought is busted with in the first year.) I have $300 including taxes to spend.
Beanbag Chair.
You’re like 3 ft tall and scrawny as can be. How could you possibly weigh 340?
On the other hand, I did just learn that gaming recliners are a thing. Neat! See?
I wish I could still use beanbag chairs
Rofl. I would rather get a desk chair. I like to get closer than I think that would let me get to my desk.
Have you tried this one? I’m not quiet your dimensions but I had one that lasted a good while for me.
Lol This is the chair I am looking to replace. It failed at the base braking away from the gas lift. It is supposed to be under warranty but you can never get a hold of support.
Lot of NBA players have twitch streams for console/pc gaming. Could go in there and ask.
That’s an interesting idea. I might have to try that.
Father in law is quite fond of his Serta chair. I think this is it - holds up to 350 lbs:

You’re around my weight but im a tad taller at 6’6. Im not sure if your country has AK Racing chairs but here in australia we do. They have a series called MAX and can hold up to 180kg. I’ve got one and while the arm wrests annoy me, the rest is fine
They have a few in at the Walmart here in town. I might need to check that out. Thanks.
I have seen AK racing advertised a few times. I’ll look that up. Thank you for the recommendation.
I’d guess that as someone of your weight class, you’d be aware that most brands don’t even offer chairs for weight limits in excess of 300 lbs. Not that I’m judging, my mother had the same issue. A lot of stores will carry their own “brand” name basic office chairs w/300lbs as the max limit.
I think some like Yamasoro, Anda Seat and Sadie Big and Tall might be some chairs that might fit/suit your requirements.
I myself have degenerative discs in both my back and neck that make prolonged sitting quite painful, I invested in a Herman Miller, Mirra 2, which might just meet your requirements at 350lbs weight limit, but they’re pricey. Be wary of most refurb offers too as you can be burned with some cheap replacement parts to an OEM item.
Oh to have the money for a Herman Miller. My brother owns one and it is insane how nice that chair is. But I just can’t justify spending that much. No worries about judging. I know I am a big guy and am working on that. Buying a chair is only one of the nightmares of being a bigger guy. You have given me a few names to look into. Thank you.
Yeah the Sadie and the Yamasoro are more in the $250 ish range. I wasn’t going to just drop the top-of the line on you as the only option! A man must needs have options!
Steelcase is another option for Heftier limit chairs at a fair price too.
