Question for disc on Hyrja

Attempted an 18 HoV and Hyrja’s lightning storm was impossible to heal through without PWB, Rapture didn’t seem to help at all. Normally, for lesser keys, I will use PWB on the first dome and keep everyone up with one PWR, Shd Cov, and smite/penance spam. If we make it to a second dome I will use Rapture and normally this works fine. However since it was Tyran week we of course made it to a second dome and even with help from the party ( Rallying Cry, AMZ, and off healing from our Prot pally ) the damage was just too much. Is this just a problem with higher keys and Tyran/GW week? How do you guys heal through it without PWB?

I usually ask to use lust when the first storm starts Use Rapture + Atonement healing + PW: Life (+ Flash Heal + Radiance if really needed)

2nd Storm - Barrier + PI + Radiance +PW:life + Team CDs +Atonement healing (+ potion of elemental power is strong HPS boost, make sure you have that for that fight)

Can use Potion for 2nd storm if you know there is not going to be 3rd storm, if not save it for 3rd storm. You should have rapture back by then.

Phial of Tepid versatility is good if you need hps help.

(This is not dead set lol but this works for me lol)

I don’t normally do tooo bad but i do have a Healthy bit of Mastery (35%) atm which reaaaaaally helps with the Added Healing from Mastery but in all Honesty this is the only boss that gives me the most struggle on Tyran week, 70-80k Shocks Is pretty horrible on top of the grievous Max health% ticks The first Barrier is Actually Pretty smooth Its normally the second one that gets me, I just hope and pray the DPS don’t rely on my to try to save them as they hold onto their immunities or defensives cause there is only so much i can do, I gotta save myself too or we are getting nowhere ya know.

Yeah we always pop lust on the first dome. My cds are enough for the first one, then we use personals on the second. Even then though it just seems like PWB is necessary or maybe the kinds of personals we have just don’t cut it. I run with a mix of paladins, dks, warriors, shamans, and druids, more often than not though we have two warrior dps

I should note that we try not to see a third lightning phase. No matter the key we go one lighting and two sanctify, the bomb she puts on us I can handle and the tank saves their big cds for the shield blast + PS and I make sure I have a big PWS saved since I have the 4 set. On Tyran we always see a second dome but never have we done a third. It really just seems 18+ is just too much with greivous adding that extra damage

All barriers:

  • Start with Harsh Discipline procced.
  • Always cast one flash heal for protective light and fade for DR.
  • If you have mindbender it should be up for each lightning phase - use it. If not, use it on phase 2.
  • Once you start damage, rotation is Shadow Covenant → Schism → Harsh Discipline DR → Mind Blast x 2 → Halo → Solace → Shadow Word: Death
    • If you took mindgames, throw it in next to Halo.
    • Twilight Equilibrium is not worth playing around in this phase if you took it, because besides solace, anything you cast that would proc the light side is really not enough to maintain the burst you need.

First barrier:

Lust + Rapture. It’s also good to pre-hot or cast a radiance early to get your mastery bonus on rapture.

With lust I generally have enough to get through this by extending my rapture into the damage, using Radiance then the burst damage rotation.

Second barrier:
This is the hardest one - you have to have PW:B down, and likely another CD from a party member. This is also where people should be popping personals (ESPECIALLY if they have the light AoE) You can save power infusion for this one, though I haven’t absolutely needed to. If you didn’t take mindbender, use Shadowfiend here.

Third Barrier:
Rapture again, this one’s generally easier because you’re in SW:D execute range, and that will provide another huge heal during the burst - and you get 2 of them talented into it. Adjust your damage rotation to fit 2 SW:D casts, and you can cast them earlier if worried.

Worst fight in the game. I hate that chick so much!

She’s not pleasant for anyone and I have no clue why they nerfed every boss but her.

Ok so for Hyrja… For high keys if the tank can de-sync it that’s good and helps making it easier… But that’s more on the tank to do it so not 100% in your control, in any case you should discuss the strategy for it before the dungeon starts…

I just did it at a +22 with no de-sync and wasn’t too bad (because we had already the strategy planned)… This is what we did, we had a DH so we mixed in Darkness into the rotation:

First - Bloodlust (if you start on the lightning side just pop it on pull it will still be active for the storm) + Darkness + Personals. (Should have used Rapture to pre-shield but we actually wanted to de-sync and failed so didn’t had time for it).

Second - Barrier + PI.

Third - Rapture + Personals again and since we are in execute range I got access to SW: Death.

To prepare for the storm: Pre-shield everyone with Rapture (available every other one), get your harsh discipline ready, refresh Purge the wicked to max duration, drop your mindbender, try to flash heal before it starts for the 10% DR, you can use Pain Suppression as your “personal”.

Then as for actually healing during the storm line-up your PW:Radiance to land right as the damage has started then proceed to your burst rotation but only the “strong” spells so: ShadowCov - Schism - Penance - SW:Death (if enabled) - MindBlast - MindGames (if taken)… If you run out of those don’t spam smite since that’s too little value and instead use PW:Radiance again for the healing. Also can use PW:Life and buffed PW:Shield from your tier-set on those who get particularly low.

Oh and remember to use fade for every one and Desperate prayer if needed (both are off the GCD so you don’t lose healing by using them), same for healing potion and healthstone.

Honestly the BS part imo is not the storm damage itself but that she casts Arclight Blot right when the storm ends, whoever gets targeted by it needs to be around 50% or will die… For example our DH was right below at 45% it was just a little too low and died by 3k, we rezzed him and continued so it was fine but just to show how that goes.

If you have a Prot pally tank ask them to get the CDr on Blessing of Sac so they have it every storm and ask them to put it on you or some squishy DPS.

Btw… Fenrir is also pretty though to heal, specially if people fail the spread and get double bleed stack (basically you’ll have to rotate Pain Supp with his own personal to try to keep them up trough two stacks).
