Question about world drop rare mount spawns and server restarts

Just recently got into the rare mount farming game, been lucky to be able to get a few WoD dreanor mounts this past week, but for those that have been at it for a while, do weekly server restarts, or long down time server restarts like today respawn rares for mounts? or is it still just time based when last killed?

It really depends on the content. The WoD mounts and most silver rares are either daily or as they spawn - if they turn golden they aren’t loot eligible. The MoP world bosses are weekly. All raid drops are weekly.

Best recommendation I can give is load your character on SimpleArmory.com and look at the mount page - all in one resource. Good luck!

OP’s asking if the rares spawn immediately after server restart.

It used to work that way but blizz eventually caught on to the fact that thousands of players would camp respawns when servers came back online. So a lot of mount drop rares had their respawn timers randomised to no longer coincide with server restarts. That being said, there are some I think that still spawn with server restarts. Usually world boss ones where the drop rate is so low it really doesn’t matter if you kill it or not since you’ll likely never get the mount to drop.

There’s a whole thing on how to spawn world mobs and I believe it’s under one of the comments of the Time Lost Proto on wowhead.

With the way the game is now though, I’ve found it’s much easier to just have an alt on one of the RP servers that doesn’t merge. They’re already low population but if you’re working up a character in Chromie Time with warmode enabled basically anything you’re looking for is going to be up when you arrive and if it isn’t, just log that character out for about 15-20 minutes and log it back in til it is.

Does kind of take the challenge of it, though.

I just got Aeonaxx mount doing it the chromie way it was spawned the first time i looked for it while i looked for it for hours on my main definatly easier
