Question about weapon skill

How many hits does it take to increase the last skill point from 299 to 300?

A lot. That last point takes forever.

Over 9000!

Probably more accurate than people think

It’s the same as the amount of licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop, but unfortunately no one has ever measured the amount of licks past 3. The world may never know.

do a few dungeons and you’ll probably get that last point

Less than it does to get from 304 to 305.

Wear intellect gear, ask a mage for arcane intellect, if you are Alliance, get a blessing of Kings too. Then grind on the highest level mons possible.

it depends on a few factors the level of the mobs you are hitting and how much int you have.

Mr.Owl…

If you can get to the end of DM:N the spirits surrounding the king can be attacked for weapon skill ups.

I grabbed some crappy white vendor weapons of all types and got all my skills up to 299-300 in about 6 hours of just auto attacking while doing chores around the house.

The level of the mobs does not matter at all (it was everything on private servers). If you stack about 175 int as a warrior, equip the fastest, low-damage weapons you can find, and go into Ragefire Chasm, you can go 1-MAX in less than 15 minutes.

It greatly depends on your class (int scales differently), attacks per minute, and your intellect. I like to spam rend on rock elementals because they’re immune so my rage keeps going up instead of down.

Lots of good advice here. My paladin has maxxed all weapon skills, and my huntard has all except polearm is at 286/300.

Buy a weapon the fastest speed you can find. Buy elixir of greater wisdom. Just use white hits (Unless you’re running low on health of course).

299-300 seems to take twice as long as 298-299. Also 304-305 on guns seemed to come faster than most weapons from 299-300. I don’t believe it was a particularly fast gun. It makes me wonder if the formula is based on a percent chance rather than a variable calculated number of hits.

I have 300 of every skill. It’s going to take a long time if you don’t buff intellect… so do that. Equip intellect items, use scrolls, bum a mage, etc. At one point I was using sage pots while farming (as a warrior). I actually had a blue staff from a quest reward with 30 intellect. I swung that for staff skill and kept it around for the ranged skills. I would pull every mob with 2 shots instead of charging. Btw, if other people are in the area, shoot at their mobs, as you can still skill up. It doesn’t matter who has them tagged.
