So as a DPS warrior spec’d into Arms, my question is: Should I be dumping rage with Slam, or with Heroic Strike? I have the talent that reduces Heroic Strike’s cost by 3 rage, and don’t have the talent that reduces Slam’s cast time by 0.5 seconds, so I’ve been dumping rage with Heroic Strike, but I’ve been wondering if I’m doing it right.
I dont have slam on my bars.
If your doing pve content i think fury is a better spec then arms. Normally i see arms for pvp. For leveling im doing 2h fury.

Fury is the better DPS spec, hands down and their output just skyrockets as more gear becomes available.
The heroic strike talent is pretty garbage while leveling, parry is much better. Once you’re thirty you should be pulling two mobs and using sweeping strikes and cleave until 36 when you get whirlwind.
Don’t use execute unless you have to, conserve that rage for the next pull.

As someone said before, slam isn’t even worth putting on your bars.
Keep Heroic Strike spammin. I know it’s boring essentially auto attacking your way up but you get Whirlwind at 36 and you can start stance dancing to squeeze in that extra dmg.
i agree with everything every one else said. Slam isnt worth it.
Fury and arms are both good for leveling. Fury a little better.
As others have stated, slam isnt worth putting on your bar.
At your level heroic strike is it. Later youll have overpower to play with as well.
Dont forget about anger management. I found that by far one of best talents to pick up early on. Makes your rage last way longer between pulls. So far im lvl 25 and i went 11 points in arms, 5 in fury for crit and rest going prot. I have friend that is holy priest, and we like to do dungeon runs. When solo all i do is equip 2 hander and play slow. Lol
What level are you? I doubt you’re 16 because you don’t have Slam at that level (good ol’ forum lag with character updates).
You use slam under very niche cirumstances:
- Level 60
- 2h Fury build with Improved Slam
- Spam Slam and carefully time auto attack in between by using an auto attack swing timer addon
If you are under level 36, your rage dumps are going to be Heroic Strike and Rend. Maybe add a hamstring every now and then if your weapon has a proc or if the enemy has a decent dodge chance (helps get you a free overpower).
At level 36 you get whirl wind, That becomes your only rage dump at that time. A very occasional cleave might be appropriate but it costs a ton of rage because it consumes your auto swing rage as well as costing rage.
At level 40 you’ll grab mortal strike or bloodthirst. Those become your main rage dump for single target. If you’re fighting multiple targets your rage dumps are sweeping strikes into whirlwind if you’re arms, or just whirlwind if you’re fury. Add in a cleave you have excess rage (80+), or if you desperately need to consume sweeping strikes charges.
