I’ve noticed that some group members don’t have the chat bubble with 
or 
above their head when Thundering happens, does this just mean they don’t have DBM installed or is there some other reason for it? It always throws me off when it happens because Blizzard’s built in icons for it are incredibly hard to see.
Means they dont have a thundering weakaura more than likely…dont think dbm or bigwigs does that afaik…
I don’t have WA installed at all and I have the chat bubbles, so it’s not that.
Yes, most likely DBM doing it for you.

Thanks for confirming, I’ll probably start politely telling people they should install DBM when this happens because it’s annoying. I might even setup a macro for it so I don’t need to type out a message each time.
Doesn’t blizz have their own icons? Ones a tornado and ones a circle.
Blizzard icons are way too hard to distinguish compared to the ugly raid marker icons, so people rely on the pixelated red/blue blobs instead of the shiny new graphics that Blizzard spent on that time on
Those are so hard to see imo that they might as well not even be there.
Don’t be surprised if some people respond negatively to this. Not everyone likes using addons and they won’t care if a random person in their group is annoyed bc the chat bubbles or whatever don’t pop up.
For the record I do use DBM but I just go by the standard blizzard art. It’s not really that hard to see.

I had no problem telling them apart and then one day people started blocking their icons with speech bubble squares and crosses… Now I can’t seem them anymore.
I think thundering is the worse kiss/curse affix ever. And it has nothing to do with thundering itself. People either clear as soon as it happens or can’t be bothered to clear at all. I put a big nasty frontal on a mage in a key today. He screamed in chat for 3 mins about turning it away. I said if you had moved to me and then away you wouldn’t have gotten hit. Tanks can’t eat a preventable stun on top of everything else hitting them.
It’s not, but it is a good recommendation for people who are just getting to that tier of M+. My spouse just started playing this xpac and was refusing to get add-ons, so I installed DBM, BigWigs and Junk (Although I removed Bigwigs because it was over whelming for him in terms of UI feedback out of the box) and he does appreciate how it makes it easier to see some things.
That’s generally how I sell it to people who don’t like stuff like DBM, it’s training wheels… use it for 1-2 runs so you can get help than feel free to kill it
