I’m going in as a Fury Warrior, and doing fine until the Umbral Imps spawn in, but then I’ll die with a couple of seconds. I’ve gotten the MoP crafted gear, all the consumables, adjusted my talents, etc., but apparently I’m doing something wrong here. Does anyone have any advice on what to do here that the videos aren;t explaining?
Hey, Im currently attempting her as well with my Fury. I’ve got her switching to P2 but still pretty tough. (Im not the BEST fury warrior either)
So far, what I have found is that CD management is the biggest issue. You just barely have enough CDs and using them in the wrong Adds can ruin a run.
I deal with the Umbrals with Bladestorm. It kills them before the BS is done. However, the umbrals tend to teleport from their spawn location when you approach them, so I wait for the teleport so I don’t pop BS and they move away and I end up having to track 'em around.
My biggest challenges are the healing imps. They have SO MUCH HEALTH. it’s kinda dumb. Also, I down them without CDs. Just Heroic Leap and Piercing or I even Fear them out, and take them down.
I leave my Reck for Agatha and her shield so I can down it as fast as possible and interrupt to continue the fight.
My best attempts, quite frankly have been almost ignoring Agatha completely in terms of damage and just making it about Add tracking. They can just get badly timed and get out of control VERY quickly.
I normally pop drums at 70%-68% on a big wave of Umbrals and the little ones (every now and again they all time together and its a S-show) and burn her to try to push closer to the P2 with most of my CDs returning.
Im still at it, so other people might have better strats.
It’s sad this forum is sort of dead and no one is talking about it though.
I will share with you my video of the encounter here:
I talented into anger management to line up bladestorm and recklessness every time the masses of imp adds spawn. It really is imperative that you down as many of them as you can within 3 seconds or you’re in for a bad time. Additional details I’ve written in the video description. It’s a long and drawn out fight. Best of luck to you!
I did mine as fury and had a hard time surviving too.
I started to try impending Victory which felt like it saved me a lot.
Agatha is the easiest one for sure. She does very little damage as long as you kill the imps quickly and prevent her energy from capping too much. The only thing that hurt me was the mid-late P2 imps free casting, or the boulder hits.
Gearing for the MT has the biggest impact in killing her, and my record is a 2:25 kill, so far.
Back in Legion, I used the Artifact ability to clear out the Umbrals since the CDs lined up nicely. This time…Bladestorm I assume.
Hey wanted to check back on this post. I did get my Fury Warrior done.
As some have mentioned two key things to make the encounter TRIVIAL:
- Impending Victory. Super helpful and where most of the healing will come from.
- Grab two weapons under ilvl 50 and put Crusader enchants on them.
The enchant will have an uptime of 100%, and it basically doubled my DPS. Like I quite literally was able to 2 shot the healing imps no problem.
Took me 2 tries after that to down her. It was honestly frustrating how easy it made the encounter.
This was my strategy and I cleared it without issue. My priority kill list:
- Plague imps
- Umbral imps
- Healing imps
- Fire imps
Agatha was always my last priority even when she was casting Dark Fury. She’s the least threatening mechanic in the whole fight.
It ended up being a 9 minute fight and maybe I could have spent more time hitting boss, but I went the safe route and it worked.
Just tried this and was able to do it on my first try after previously wiping like 10 times. Definitely noticed a damage increase.
Another trick I found out right now.
If you have a fresh Legion Legendary (with no Relics in the slots) it will be item level 20.
You can do ONE world quest to get a Relic and improve the weapon to ilvl 37 (+16 lvls) OR go into ToS real quick and kill a boss to loot some relics.
This will keep the Legendary under 50 and allow you to use them with Crusader enchant.
Nice option if you’re find it expensive to buy lower level weapons on the AH.
I actually defeated it with dual Gurthalak’s enchanted with Crusader for the lulz. The proc rate is still pretty decent, and they channel for ~300 damage a tick. I was able to keep 1-3 tentacles up at any given point in time, which accounted for about 10% of my total damage.
It’s not so much that it gets Agatha to attack them, but when the imps spawn, if you don’t have Bladestorm off cd, sometimes the newer spawns will attack a tentacle for a couple hits, which at the end it can become slightly overwhelming to deal with all the mechanics at once. Saved me at one point when I wasn’t paying attention and took a boulder to the face.
They’re also just helpful for my semi-unique situation of having to deal with muscle tremors and spasms. If you’re just having problems in-general, perhaps it will help you as well.
What gear are you rocking for this fight?
Hey can u share to me how addons u use to UI or profiles, i really want to know how i put dmg history like yours, dmg with icone + colors
To be honest, you don’t need any of that stuff. I did it with current gear, no cheese enchants/gear. The fight lasted about 7 mins 40 seconds. Priority was always healing adds first, followed by plague bombs. The rest of the adds all can be reflected and victory rush them negating anything they do.
Using what is available to you isnt cheese. Everyone has access to crusader, everyone has access to weapons that you can apply crusader to. Its like saying Mythic raiders cheese their fights for getting every available boon than they can get. You can work on cars with a regular box wrench, but using a speed wrench if you can would be so much better. Use the tools you have.
Not a very good analogy, but technically you’re not wrong. What I’m saying is you don’t need Crusader enchant, or time walking gear to beat em.
Going and farming a bunch of really old content to get old gear. That is a way to cheese the way the game levels down your character. I don’t blame the people resorting to it, I just think it’s stupid that’s how the downgrading works.
I think a lot of people got it done because of crusader heal. The dps benchmark feels a lot easier than the old tower, but the healing benchmark is equally the opposite and more tight than it used to be. The fight used to be a marathon of cleaving the boss while smashing imps. This fight is now long stretches of nothing special with frantic moments of trying to bladestorm/cleave down imps hoping victory rush will save you. Save your cooldowns for these moments. Don’t forget you can spell reflect her targeted cast.
You can also be like me and a massive packrat who saves everything like these stupid gloves I got from the Legion pre event that are utterly useless except at this level and against demons.
I did some fiddling with trinkets to see which I liked, most proc ones don’t do enough damage to be worth it. I used an arcanocrystal (yes I’ve had that in the bank all this time too) and the mechagon trinket with the card that stacks damage. Apparently I was dumb some time in the past and replaced the card that reduces slow effects, so no idea if this works on the poop pools, but it probably does.
Again, its not cheesing using gear from the expansion that content was in. Or using an enchant that is really really old. People want stuff from the past to be relevant, and then when people use stuff from the past its all of a sudden its just a way to cheese the content.
Crusader heal was healing for a lot, 2-3k which was probably too strong, but its still good even the str being over halved and the heal dropping quite a lot. Its still helping people complete it. And its not like a lot of people are using Crusader and just mowing down the content.
