Question about tabards

From my understanding, according to wowhead, tabards can be transmoged on alts as long as the reputation was earned on another character and the tabard was bought on that character. I tested this out by earning friendly with argent crusade and purchasing the argent tabard on my rogue, and it was transmoggable on my alts afterwards, even the ones that never even seen the argent crusade before. But after getting army of light to exalted on rogue and purchasing the tabard, it is only available on my rogue. So are only certain tabards accound wide or something? or did i miss something here?

That tabard probably costs enough to be able to sell it back for a full refund. If that timer is still there, just add the tabard (or any item this happens to) to your favorites in your appearance collection and it will be available to all your characters.

Also, your characters (for the most part) have to be the level required to wear the tabard. There are some exceptions to this, namely Pandarian tabards.

It worked for me in the end, I didn’t realize that if the tabard has a timer on it to sell it back to the vendor then it won’t show up as transmoggable untill the timer runs out, thanks for replies

Yeah, it’s not just tabards that behave that way. Any item you buy that can be transmogged won’t be available account-wide until you can no longer sell it back for a full refund.
