Not sure if this is working as intended or something blizzard would be interested in fixing (hoping the latter), but Stasis has this annoying thing about it where if you let it go off on its own when it expires, it will actually interrupt whatever it is you’re casting (at least, i’ve noticed this multiple times with empower spells)
e.g. i’m charging up a full empower Firebreath, right before i release it Stasis expires and releases, thereby interrupting my Firebreath and causing me to have to cast it again.
Is it supposed to be this way? Just another annoying aspect of dracthyr i have to add to the list?
I can’t think of a reason to let stasis expire, it should be used pretty intentionally to prepare for/respond to incoming damage windows.
I’d be interested in knowing how you’re using it if this is happening to your regularly.
It would seem like a working as intended situation, since your only two options are it expiring without using it, or interrupting what you’re doing. At any rate, it should be doing a good deal more healing than whatever you’re casting, and it would be a lot worse if it just dropped off with no value.
i was using it in arena, and it doesn’t happen often, only started using stasis recently (been trying out different talents choices). While i’ve only ever noticed it interrupting my Firebreath (a damage spell) at full empower, causing me to have to recast it, i have a strong hunch that it would interrupt any spell. Charging a full empower spell just happens to be the longest cast i have, so i’ve only noticed it with Firebreath.
I had used stasis a while back, but only in heroic dungeons and had never noticed the ‘interrupting’ aspect of it since back then normally didn’t ever use a full empowered firebreath.
Also, just to be clear, maybe “expiring” is the wrong word, Statis is still getting used, just at the end of the 20 secs or however long stasis lasts. I’ve mainly been using it in arenas to refresh Dreambreath (empower lvl 1), Spiritbloom (empower lvl 1 or 2) and either a verdant embrace or a living flame, which is why i didn’t often find it necessary to end Stasis early (but instead kept hold of it for entire duration), and thus allowing me to have a constant dreambreath on my party.
