Hello, I am trying to get some characters to Zereth Mortis and am having issues getting there. I had the campaign finished on my main in shadowlands, some of my characters I had in Oribos for crafting purposes but never did any of the campaign quests on them. Now I am trying to get some of those characters to Zereth Mortis for transmog items. It appears the game wants me to run the entire campaign from 9.0 start to zereth mortis. Is there a way to just start the zerethis mortis campaign or is this a bug?
There used to be a skip, but it was overly complicated to get to. Some of this may be locked behind renown levels and completing the covenant story quests, it was when I did the skip after Threads of Fate was removed.
If I remember what worked for me (mind, this was 2 expansions ago, so ymmv) when you get to Oribos, if your character is below level 60, they cannot skip into ZM. They will have to “walk the lonely road of the damned”.
If they are level 60 or higher, When you first talk with Tal-Inara, you may see a skip to ZM. If you do not, then pick a covenant, do the first bit of stuff, at some point you will get sent back the maw to talk to Ve’nari, you may have to free Baine Bloodhoof from the Maw, eventually you end up back in Oribos to talk to Bolvar Fordragon, he should have a skip option at that point. This may be the skip to ZM.
If it isn’t then take it, get to Korthia, do some whatevers, get sent back to Oribos (by the Primus, if I remember it rightly), speak with whoever you need to to turn in the quest, then you should need to speak with Tal-Inara at some stage after this point. When you speak to Tal-Inara is when the skip to ZM should be available if it was not before this point.
