So I have a habit of always starting xpacs / arena seasons late and being behind the 8 ball. I’ll say I’m done WoW and then I’ll go watch a YouTube vid of the new xpac after a month and you know the rest…
Well 9.1 (S2) I want to actually start and grind hard from day 1 and see what kinda rating I’m capable of. I’m leveling 1 of each class to 60 and almost done so I’ll have my pick of whichever main I want based on whatever goes live and what I feel best with.
That said how geared should I get the toon I plan to main for S2? Do I need to get it up to at least 1800 and all 220 or will the new base honor gear outweigh it so my gear won’t matter too much. I mean I guess it’s obvious to get best gear possible to start but can someone explain what the new season will bring as far as starting over.
Does all conq/honor get wiped? What’s easiest way to get the best start is I guess what I took a long time to ask
No idea if Honor gets reset but I’d be surprised if they don’t reset Conquest.
If it’s anything like season 1 was it’ll be way easier to push rating in the first few weeks.
Conquest 100% gets reset, honor wont.
Getting your chars to i220 this season will help you start out vs just honor gearing them next season (max honor gear rank is time gated behind renown so I220 current season gear will be better than honor gear at start of next season)
Honor gear in 9.1 will max out @ 229 in pvp, which means a lot of farming will be going on for anyone who didnt duelist in s1. I would try to get to @ least 213 (1600 rating) if you can, to avoid getting steamrolled when farming bgs for honor gear.
Conquest gear STARTS @ 233 and goes up 7 points per tier u increase. The season won’t start right away, so you can try to grind out as much 229 pieces as you can before jumping into arena.
Like this season, honor rank increase comes from renown, 61 renown for the first one in 9.1 meaning if its still 3 renown/week it will take 7 weeks from 9.1 launch til you can upgrade honor gear higher than current season gear.
7 weeks into season and you’ll have a good chunk of conquest gear if you’ve been getting vault pieces as well.
