So I am not a technical person, sadly, I know that the graphic requirements for Shadowlands has been updated and I am worried my laptop won’t be able to handle it.
My laptop has Intel HD 4000 graphics and during BFA, I noticed a few things, such as
- Graphic glitches during gameplay (didn’t really phase me).
- To put it in perspective, I run it on the lowest display possible.
- My FPS once dropped to 5 when I was in crowded servers and areas like Boralus or Orgrimmar (I don’t mind about the FPS drop to be honest).
- I use a cooling fan.
It is absolute potato graphics and I know it might worry most people, but in all honesty, I’m just worried that my laptop won’t be able to physically handle Shadowlands…
Any help would be appreciated and thank you!
Could you run Wow after the 9.0 prepatch?
That’s SL at it’s current form.
Your graphics card is below min specs, but if you were running it in the prepatch, or are running it now, without going into SL, you’re running the current client, with current hardware requirements.
I unfortunately can’t remember what patch number had the stat squish or when the new leveling area was introduced, but I was able to run it then.
That would be 9.0. If you played then, that’s basically the experience.
Is there anything else I need to mention or am I set?
I wouldn’t expect great performance, and it may not be a satisfactory experience. Lots of new SL areas have a fog effect and such, which may not be well handled by the gpu.
It’s an unsupported gpu at this point, so it;s not catered to. With those caveats, you should know how it runs from 9.0 and if you’re fine with that, there you go.
Admittedly fire or AOEs don’t or barely even show up on the screen for me so the only way I can see it is if if I change the particle effects up a single notch lol.
A friend told me that technically my laptop is running on the GPU integrated graphics, it doesn’t really have a graphics card at all.

Your friend is right. Some new areas may cause crashes, too, due to their new effects on unsupported hardware.
