Question About Robe of the Archmage

I’m wondering if anyone who has made this robe can confirm if I can drop tailoring after making the robe.

I’d like to make the robe and then switch from tailoring to alchemy. Will I still be able to equip and use the robe?

Thanks.

Does not require tailoring to wear/use.

Also wear it while you can! With the speedy release of everything ZG will be ready in the blink of an eye and then the Bloodvine set will make that robe irrelevant.

Generally speaking you can tell if the item requires a profession to learn/wear/both based on where in the tooltip the message “Requires Tailoring (300)” is.

Check the tooltip for Pattern: Robe of the Archmage. It says requires tailoring right at the top because you need tailoring to learn the pattern, but note it doesn’t say it anywhere in the tooltip for the robe itself. It only says “Classes: Mage.”

If you keep tailoring the bloodvine set also gives you 2% crit, without tailoring it doesn’t.

Also if you are playing anniversary bloodvine is going to be your BiS raiding set perhaps never to be replaced until TBC depending on how hard you chase the BiS mage pieces which come from all the 40 man raids. It might not be worth it to even go to Naxx.

I have the gold and the pattern. But so many mages have it im sick of seeing it. Also, hard to drop 500 g for essences while i can just do less dps and still make gold. Necropile robe it is.
