I don’t have bfa, but I’m subbed and leveling up this toon while I wait for classic just to be prepared for the next expansion if it’s one that piques my interest. Since you start at 1 with each new expansion and go to 100, is there any reason to level any professions at all? I don’t really care about the mounts and that’s the only reason I could see leveling a profession unless I’m missing something?
Well the professions can make you a lot of money, the mounts in particular are quite expensive
well some professions can afford some benefit and savings …Alchemy comes to mind as you get longer buffs from being an alchemist, but in general no they are as useless as archaeology now
Crafting profs during leveling: Engineering lets you access some things like the lootarang and wormholes if you level that specific expansion’s engi a bit.
Bags are always nice, and making the WoD and Legion bags is easy and cheap if a bit time consuming.
Inscription is uh…who knows. They often add glyphs in past expansion lists, so it’s good to have that skilled up and have some old mats on hand (my main is a monk and he’s a scribe. I have this sense that at some point they’re going to nix inscription forever, so take that as you will; until then I’ve kept up with it since I created him in MoP)
I’ve been leveling a mag’har orc, went double gatherer for the exp boost.
There’s no specific reason to level LEGACY professions much anymore, no.
As you mentioned, there may be some specific prof based mounts, or transmuting an element that still used for that, but on the whole, not really.
Leveling BLacksmith here.
If your on a RP servder like me, you can sell your levelups as mog gear on the AH and make some gold that way.
Otherwise its useless.
Hmm ok well I was hoping for a good reason to do it but it sounds like the benefits are marginal at best. Thanks for the replies guys.
