ive been for years not eating til like 3-5 pm but now i am trying to eat in the morning. so usually i eat a bowl of oatmeal in the morning, then i go for a 5ish mile run a few hours later when it digests
but today i ate sour straws covered in tajin(that mexican salt powder stuff), when i woke up at 5 am, do you think that will still help my metabolism start for the day?
I don’t understand your question. Your metabolism doesn’t “stop” unless you’re dead.
i think complex carbs are slightly better for starting your day than sugar carbs but im not a nutritionist. especially if you are running.

You’re fine dude, but if you’re running everyday I’d switch back to oatmeal. No need for all that sugar first thing in the morning
