In the quests leading up to TWW, we go to the Void zone, Telogrus Rift and aid Alleria in chasing Xal’atath. At the end, Locus-Walker talks to Alleria about the radiant song with his homeworld of K’aresh, but doesn’t really explain the outcome of what actually happened to the planet it self.
“The radiant visions you spoke of are the very same my people had, before out world was consumed by the Void Lord Dimensius.”
Is K’aresh the planet that Sargeras found that was consumed by the Void and he cleaved in half?
K’aresh was still there, or at least parts of it were, as of BC. There’s an Ethereal NPC that complains about being called from K’aresh to go to Outland.
So I don’t think it’s the one Sargeras smashed. I assume we’ll get more answers during the World Soul saga since Ethereals have had involvement so far and the survivors may want to take a crack at fighting Xal’atath and Demensius.

Dimensius was the one who destroyed K’aresh, not Sargeras. The planet Sargeras cut in half is implied to be Telogrus itself. From the void elf unlock questline:
Nether-Prince Durzaan says: Even shattered as it is, this place echoes with the whispers of the great ones who were slain… and the hatred of he who broke this world.

There are a lot of questions surrounding K’aresh that I’m guessing we’ll get some answers to by Midnight. Knowing if K’aresh had a Worldsoul would probably help.

Locus-Walker said they heard the radiant song on K’aresh so I think that’s confirmation it had a worldsoul. Unless there’s some twist later on that the radiant song isn’t coming from Azeroth I guess.

I remain convinced the Radiant Song is Beledar (and perhaps the other crystals) and not Azeroth.
Didn’t one of the Archaedas quests literally say the crystals like Beledar are Azeroth’s “essence” or whatever?

That is what Archaedas thinks they are, but Beledar and the one other crystal we’ve now interacted with do not exhibit the same properties as Azerite (which we know for certain is Azeroth’s crystallized essence). Plus, Magni seems to be one of the few people that could not hear song, despite communing with Azeroth being his job.
On the other hand, Orweyna and the Haranir worship Azeroth as a goddess, and Orweyna hears the song. We do know Magni likened Azeroth’s voice to a song in the past as well.
Some random tidbits to consider:
- The Arathi Emperor’s vision of Beledar represented it as a falling or fallen star.
- Anduin noted that the song seemed to be emanating from Beledar.
- Beledar has very strong naaru vessel visual themes (and was labeled “Naaru Crystal” in an early zone concept). Friendly reminder that naaru are musical.
- The Radiant Song was heard on K’aresh (which is clearly not Azeroth)
I think the above is enough context to suggest Beledar/Azeroth are separate entities, but not enough for me to have a clear picture of what is actually going on.

Maybe the crystals are a remnant of Kar’esh that crash landed on Azeroth X amount of years ago and thats why the Song is so similar. It’s the death song of an already dead world.

My working theory is Midnight will culminate in Dimensius emerging on Azeroth via Beledar’s corruption.

The Cutscene of Orweyna talking to her Goddess shows the Radiant Song that Anduin and Thrall get in contact with in War Within’s first Cinematic Trailer therefore the Goddess is Beledar itself.
K’aresh of course might be the Realms of Light shattered by the great clash between Light and Shadow!
Since Saezurah mentions Umbrae alongside the other Zereths(Lumen, Ordos, Tumult, Vitae and Mortis) there must be a Realm of Shadow separate from K’aresh. Alas the Void we see is merely the Shadow’s shadow that shattered K’aresh as the True Shadow is a Vampiric Force that seeks to consume all.
What does True Shadow look like? Sylvanas’s Death Magic was undetectable by Thalyssra and was confused by it when it appeared despite Thrall later recognizing the Mawsworn’s Death Magic as being similar to Shadowmoon’s therefore cutting out a chunk of Soul seems to have given the True Shadow an opening into her that was later sealed shut purging the Shadow leaving only the Death.
The Shadow being the all consuming Vampiric Force sucked away at her emotions more and more making her less and less invested in the Jailer’s plan(according to the Sylvanas Novel) ultimately culminating in her defying the Jailer out of a pragmatic desire to never serve despite him getting her on his side by appealing to her emotions which led to him stuffing her Soul Fragment back into her sealing the opening and purging the Shadow from her.
Shadow infecting K’aresh causes it’s Light to turn to Void/Twilight then Arcane before finally the Shadow shatters K’aresh completely due to being just that alien to Light!
Shadow also isn’t limited to just Sylvanas as Anduin in Shadows Rising wielded it by instinct with Jaina recognizing it’s presence.
Shadow is tied to Survival Instinct unlike Light and it’s Shadow-warped counterpart Void/Twilight which are tied to the Heart.
If Xal’atath is backstabbed by Azshara in a manner that shatters her idea of Infinite Truths that can be foreseen she will fall to Shadow succumbing to the One True Path: There is only this Moment.
Just picture Xal’atath’s Eyes suddenly becoming Red like Sylvanas’s Shadow-corrupted Eyes as she gains the same back tentacles and is left with the goal of seeking Zereth Umbrae instead of Zereth Lumen!
K’aresh was (is?) the home world of the etherals. It was destroyed (?) by the void lords. In the process, the etherals lost their corporal bodies.

We all know what the radiant song is.
FFXIV Endwalker had a, “Song,” that the entire planet heard, heralding the end times. As usual, Blizzard just copied SE’s homework and changed one or two words to fool teacher.
Looks like there’s new ethereal models on the PTR that have 2 body types and can wear armor like player models. I think we’re going to find out what happened to K’aresh soon and maybe make some new friends.
