Im frost spellslinger and I know when we cast ice lance it takes off stacks of freezing. My question is, so I still cast ice lance even when I don’t have fingers of frost? Say I have a ray of frost that I want to put out, but Im sitting at 20 stacks of freezing, no finger of frost procs….should i empty those stacks with regular casts of ice lance or should i just go right into ray of frost and waste stacks of freezing? Thanks
Yes. You want to try your best not to max out on 20 stacks for long. So you will be ice lancing even when you do not have fingers of frost. fingers of frost is more so like a “freebie” ice lance now.

Yeah you can cast it at 6+ stacks if you don’t have a Brain Freeze proc, Glacial Spike, or Frozen Orb available. Definitely use it if your stacks are at or near 20, before you use Ray of Frost. You don’t want to be sitting at 20 stacks.
