Question about Glimmer of Light

So, since Glimmer of Light is here to stay, I want to understand it as much as I can, but there this one things that always gets me - when in a M+, sometimes the only one to take damage is the tank, and in that situation, I am never sure whether I should use the “break” to spread Glimmer of Light, or should I focus on spamming it on my tank to keep their health up?

Usually if the tank is starting to take heavy damage I’ll toss a sac on them and then use Flash of light with infusion procs from weaving in holy shocks to them and the rest of the group. You’ll get a bigger heal return with glimmer on at least your party going into the tank instead of just hitting the tank with one, unless its a their going to die moment and then you’ll want to use lay on hands.

So like, use other spells to keep the tank alive and weave some Glimmer of Light on your allies/enemies in the meantime?

In Shadowlands you will take Beacon of Virtue over Glimmer for Dungeons, so don’t get use to Glimmer in a dungeon environment.

Is that so? I thought they were going to be more of different playstyles with not much performance difference between them.

Glimmer is incredibly weak in shadowlands. On ptr with 3 450 glimmer traits and the talent I think glimmer heals for 350.

Damn, now that I was starting to like it…

Use Beacon of Virtue for 5 mans and stack a bunch of crit. You’ll have a much easier time keeping your party topped off and you won’t go oom.

If you do go with Glimmer I’d spread them out. If all you ever do is Holy Shock the Beacon unit then none of the Glimmers will transfer to the Beacon. If you have 4 Glimmers out excluding the Beacon unit all 4 of the Glimmer procs will transfer to the Beacon. The Kyrian ability Divine Toll, on a one minute CD, has a nice synergy with Glimmer. Assuming Divine Toll hits 5 separate targets that’s 5 Glimmers procs on each unit that already has Glimmer on it. So if you already had 4 units with Glimmer, excluding the Beacon unit, that would be 5*4 Glimmer procs from Divine Toll that would all transfer to the Beacon unit.

this is why Beacon of Virtue should had become our default beacon, we already lack an aoe heal so the least they could had done was made Beacon of Virtue the default Beacon & people can spec for the current version of beacon if they want to just cast and forget about it.

I see bad holy paladin healers here only. Glimmer is amazing, and will be amazing in SL. Is best for healers who like be in middle of fight, and mostly focusing on dps.
People who replay here are this bad paladin healers who just stay far away and heal like holy priest, because for them healing and dpsing is so super hard, like you ask your brain for so much.

Beacon of Virtu for dungeons, lol. I played in beta, and my holy paly is strong like always. People are just bad.

Ilvl 465, mythic +10, go away troll, go back to your Beacon of Virtu lol

You mad bro?

Nop bro, just disappointed

I like both glimmer and BoV, but just looking at #'s on the PTR glimmer does weak sauce heals next to BoV transferring 50% of your heals to ppl under the BoV. My#'s were like 93 healing from holy shock(glimmer) vs around 500hp healing being the 50%transfered. IDK how in combat its gonna be, but standing still and using Bestow faith (then count to 3)… then Beacon of virtue, holyShock, Flash of light, etc. just blow your wad…big AOE heals every 15 seconds. Time will tell. glimmer is fun in BFA but its like just use 1 click heal spell and forget the rest.

glimmer in BFA is like the DemonHunter of healers. 3 button Huge output.

Use it on whos got the least health.

Your wrong but okay, glimmer will be a good choice but it’s no where near as impactful on your healing as it has been throughout most of bfa. So if you end up needing high throughput during moments that wings or ha isn’t ready then choosing Virtue is probably the right answer. Also picking virtue doesn’t make you play at range, so you can still do decent damage as a paladin with it talented. If you think I’m pulling your leg, we didn’t have glimmer in legion and spent most of our time in melee and where one of the best healers throughout the xpac.

But if your only care is how much dps you are producing then yes glimmer will always be the #1 pick

I’m glad glimmer isn’t the only option anymore. Cant say I liked it. I prefer BOV

I’m glad Glimmer isn’t “The way” anymore too. Already re-specd to bestow and BoV yesterday
