Is your attack in cat or bear form linked to your weapon skill? Is your attack speed linked to your weapon? Does unarmed skill have any effect on your attack while transformed?
I honestly do not remember in answer to your direct question. Though, I’d recommend in both classic and retail, to use an Agi Polearm, Staff or 2h Mace to get the most of your stats, as dual-weilding isn’t available for Druid, and doubting OH would contribute to weapon damage.
Hoping this helps
Bear and cat do not benefit from weapon base damage, speed, or skill. The speed is fixed, the power is based entirely on AP, and you have to get 9% hit from gear. Your weapons are just stat sticks.
Your best weapon throughout Classic is the Crowd Pummeler from Gnomeregan, but you have to farm them constantly because the on-use that makes it good only has 3 charges. If you’re willing to go through that, consider enchanting to shard the depleted weapons. Thankfully you can get a key on your first run through that lets you in a backdoor straight to him.
So… Strength is useless to a feral druid?
Strength is awesome, agility is argueably better because it gives crit as well, which can give double combo points if talented. Str gives you 2 ap per 1 stat
Agility gives 1 ap per 1 stat as well as extra crit and dodge chance.
There are no bad stats for druids.
Yeah Str gives more AP, but by the time it matters Agi leather starts having raw AP secondary too. There’s a reason all those fury warriors steal rogue leather.
Ohhh… Thanks, where does it say that? I’m going off the thing when i hover over my stats, it says strength and agility increase weapon damage and weapon crit and not attack power.
I don’t think it says ingame, but you can unequip a piece and check the AP difference manually.
They don’t directly increase weapon damage. They increase AP, and some combination of AP and weapon base damage computes weapon damage.
Crowd pummeler is the play. You also need to be on top of your consumables and power shifting macros. Look up shedo the druid on YouTube, will make you a legend.
Strength isn’t useless. You just don’t go out of your way to get it. It’s more AP than agility, but lacks the added bear dodge, bear/cat crit, armor.
Agility is king for feral.
Think he’s more looking just in general. MCPs, PSing, and consumes are important, but 1-60 and gearing up stat priority and the basics are more important to get.
I try and get “of the Tiger” gear since it has both Strength and Agility on it.
actually counterweight, libram of rapidity, glove haste enchant will affect cat/bear speed
Polearms weren’t usable until Wrath for druids. In Classic it’s 2H Mace, Staff, or in AQ 1H Mace/OH weapon.
In Classic, weapons are stat sticks. We only car about the stats or on-use like Manual Crowd Pummeler.
