According to looking over information in regards to Derek Proudmoore, it is said on the wiki, he died in the second war. And he’s been dead for 30 years.
What kinda sea voodoo was done to his body to prevent it from decaying much at all for 30 years, and not being eaten by various sea life?

they stuck him in a dead turtles shell.
I too was surprised of finding a fresh corps at the bottom of the ocean

I like to think it’s due to being killed by Red Dragon fire.

Or because of human potential

Bolvar was also burned with red dragon fire and now hes an extra crispy Lich King
Magic
(Insert a gif of that long haired guy and his glitter because i still don’t know what I am doing)
Because I don’t know how Jaina would react if she saw a water bloated corpse be presented to her:
Derek was burned far less then sank and drowned.
Red dragon fire has some kind of magical shenanigans to preservea nd foster life.
So I like to handwave Derek’s impossibly preserved body to red dragon fire side-effects.
His clothes aren’t even singed though.
And he was found in the same outfit he was raised in and shown in.
So it’s not like he’s had a chance to get swanky new outfits
Take a look at Derek Proudmoore. Look at him. Blue-green skin, yellowish-green hair? A bit of a thin look on him?
You know what he actually is?
Yes. He’s a KVALDIR.
He’s been a Kvaldir for 29 and a half years this whole time! And when he thought it was time to go to sleep, he decided to sleep in his coffin until Sylvanas found him!
Sylvanas didn’t resurrect him! It was Helya the whole time! Sylvanas WANTS to make you think she has control over undeath, when it was actually Helya all along…

Still more believable than his corpse condition after being underwater for 30 years.
He wasn’t totally burned like Bolvar. More like singed as his ship sank.
And it’s just a handwave. It’s a term for when the narrative has a problem and you make up a simple explanation to solve it, even if it does not make a lot of sense when you think about it. So don’t think too much about it.
Thinking too much about video games is one of my favorite past times though
Now I swear the scene where he was burned described it as if he was incinerated…
There are quest NPCs mobs in the Wetlands that were part of the Third Fleet of Kul Tiras who were also killed by the same dragons and are rotted out.
And also a bunch of skeletal remains at the bottom of the sea.
There’s no coherent lore explanation for why his body was preserved - Blizzard’s hack writters simply decided it would be so in order to push the narrative they’re “crafting”.
