So I have been playing on and off for some time now, still consider myself very much a noob. With each DLC I end up getting brought back to the game. My main has been Death Knight for quite some time, something about the class just draws me to it, just seems bada**. So with the recent launch of Dragon Flight it made me wonder. Do you end up switching your mains with each DLC? Do you just continue with your main? Just wondering how the OG’s approach new content with this epic game. I made a new Evoker character, but kept thinking, “Man I really want my Death Knight to be going through all of this”.
I’ve always mained Holy Priest, pretty much. Though for several expansions I’d just make a new one because it had a better name or to change realms. During SL I played a priest named Melancholist. Got one too many whispers asking what it meant. Before that it was it was a priest named Anathema on a dead PvE realm.
Likely won’t happen again, though. I like this name and MG.

If I’m continuously playing, I’ll keep my main going.
That being said, I’ve taken many breaks since vanilla, with my last one being from mid-BFA until a few months before DF. I created this hunter after DF launched, and if I’m still playing in 2 years, I’ll continue it into the next expansion.

I was a destro lock main since BC up until DF. Now I’m a shadow main, as I decided to broaden my horizons. It’s ok to flip flop every expac, or stick to one thing forever. No judgement or harm to it

Then play your DK, the Evoker isn’t going anywhere, it’ll still be there when you need a break from your DK.
Usually, for me anyway, it goes like this.
Play my main until I run out of things I want to do, then if I still feel like playing, hop over to an alternate character and do whatever on them, then next time I play I go back to my main.

I played this rogue since 2008… but i started playing in 2006 … if you like your already used to your DK then play your DK
Yeah I’ve been having a really hard time picking a main for this expansion tbh. Idk how to explain it but every class feels the same and also different to a point where I’m like … I love and hate all the classes equally lol
I’ve switched with expansions. Used to main hunter, shaman, paladin, warlock, dk, between patches/expansions.
Play what you have fun at the time. Sometimes blizz makes changes you don’t like but you have like 38 things to choose from.
