Question about Balance of Power achieve

I want the skins for my druid, but I think I might be way over my head? Do I need to complete the Legion campaign, all including Suramar, to unlock the quest chain? Because the Nighthold raid is locked to me at level 60, so I’m assuming I need to complete something.

What are the requirements to unlock this quest chain? I just unlocked my class hall.

i cant help you with specifics requirements but quest related stuff i can highly recommend the addon btwQuests and its related expansion parts.
you can see every open quest. it helped me alot with the legion class mounts.

i quess you just have to quest through everything including suramar witht his ancient mana thing to grow the tree

It’s been a while, but you do need to advance the Suramar campaign to a certain point in order for Kalec to show up and offer you the quest, iirc. You also need honored (revered? don’t remember) with the Nightborne, but that should come along with the other part. You should probably pick up a bunch of rep tokens for them and the Valarjar as well while Legion timewalking is still active just to be safe.

There should be a Balance of Power guide kicking around on wowhead to give you more information, though.

It’s a long trip. Take it with small bites.

You will have to complete storylines, dungeon runs, and reputation grinds.

I see. At first I thought no way lol. But the game is not going anywhere and neither am I…
Sucks that it’s not account wide though. TY all! Wowhead helps a lot here too.

You only need to do the class order hall campaign to begin the questline. After completing the order hall, you usually have to wait a few hours or a day at most before Kalecgos says hi. However you need to do the Blue Dragon questline in Azsuna (so the first two chapters of Azsuna) really get going and later quests will require you to do the Moonguard side chain in Suramar. I believe the only ‘main’ part of suramar you need to do is simply fully unlock the main hub of the zone. Which is the quests up to and including you getting the big tree. Aka the questlines that make up the ‘nightfallen but not forgotten’ achievement.

You also need to be at a certain reputation as well iirc.

Balance of power IS account wide now. I only did it once on a paladin in late Legion/ early bfa and I have almost all the skins unlocked except the pvp ones on all classes. I think it took less time to complete all 13 class campaigns including the mount unlocks than finishing that questline, but my memory is not great.

If you want to keep the benefits of Chromie Time, don’t forget to lock your character at lvl 69.

You can step out of Chromie Time for the dungeons and raids and still solo them at lvl 69.

This lvl 69 character just completed Legion, including the class hall questline, the Suramer questline and that questline in the last month or so and I had no problem soloing everything.

If it wasn’t for Wowhead comments, I wouldn’t be playing the game as Blizzard is pisspoor at explaining anything both in and out of the game.

balance of power will take a long time, like maybe 2+ months irl with working on it at least a little almost every day

it’s basically a questchain to do every quest and rep across the continent

For the rep, if you have TW badges, I recommend buying the Legion rep tokens from the Legion TW vendor if you don’t want to grind rep.

And someone already mentioned this, but BTWQuests is good. It shows you what quests you have left and the prerequisites for quests.

Reputation matter. Use legion timewalking to get as much Nightfallen rep as possible.

I think you need exalted

I think you would be best off waiting until Legion Remix.

Are you sure it doesn’t only unlock for the same class? That’s what they say on wowhead. It would irritate me because I’m nearly done on my main paladin, but I want the skin on my druid!

Originally the artifact skin unlocks for Balance of Power were character specific, but it was changed some time ago as I have the skins on characters and classes I never completed.

This is reflected in game through the achievement ‘Improving on History’ which is now displayed in blue representing an account (warband) achievement.

My understanding is that some of the additional colors / achievements may require completing the chain on a specific character to unlock, but I haven’t delved that deep into it - just noticed the Balance of Power appearance in collections and additional forms available for my druid.

I’m sure that I did Balance of Power on a paladin and am using the red glowy skin on my druid, that one required glory of the legion hero in addition to the balance of power quest line. I have also completed the class campaigns for every class, but I don’t know if that had anything to do with the availability of the balance of power stuff.

It is account wide but the unlocks for some of the alternate skins are still character only. It is a very long chain and time gated though expect it to take about a month depending on your luck with drops for the raid parts.

It was bugged for while that if you had the skin for a achievement skin on one class as soon as you unlocked any artifact weapon on another class they would get the equivalent skin for their weapon.

But blizzard changed it back during (iirc) shadowlands.
