I defeated heroic kil’jaeden for the appearance but it didn’t count, I don’t have the appearance unlocked. I relogged and everything, put a ticket, waited 3 days, the GM didn’t help at all. Is there something I’m missing?
when you say you don’t have the appearance unlocked, are you checking the artifact table or the appearances tab?
Barbershop ad appearances tab, both not unlocked.
try checking the artifact table then

I could be wrong and they changed it, but in the past I don’t think this was account wide, meaning the character who defeats H KJ is the only one that unlocks the appearance.
Is it the correct toon that defeated H that doesn’t have it unlocked or?
Alt druid, I’ve heard alt characters can complete the tasks that require to unlock other tints of the base appearances if the base appearance is unlocked.
If I had to hazard a guess, the 7.3 change negating the need to have the challenge mode tint equipped to earn the alternate tints might not be functioning correctly, try doing heroic kj again with your artifact this time

Yes everything is account wide but possibly not account unlocked,
so for example say my main DH unlocked mage tower, then I went to do one of the tints on an alt DH, the tint would NOT unlock because they never had the base one initially, in order to get it my main DH would have to do whatever to unlock it then when it unlocks it becomes available to use on all DHs on the account.

No. Alt characters can use the transmog appearance but you have to kill Mythic KJ on the character that completed the MT challenge.
Btw, your link only says this:
Artifact appearances, including completed Mage Tower challenge appearances, are account wide.
That has nothing to do with getting the appearance.

Thank you guys, that may be it, I’ll just try do invite my character that did the MT with my main and do the kill (since the one who did the MT is a lower level and can’t solo kil’jaeden) and see if that works).

Yea you have to do whatever challenge on your main. You need the base for each branch at the very least unlocked on that character.
My lock for example, she has the mage tower appearances. I had to level her up for some of the other color variations so I could get them on my alt locks.

Update: You guys were right! I did the raid on my level 70 while in a party with my lower level druid who unlocked the mage tower base appearance, killed kil’jaeden and unlocked the other tint appearance for killing heroic kil’jaeden! Thanks all for your help.
