Question about account deletion

If I delete all my characters on my wow account, Does that mean I’ll lose all my mounts and toys? Pets I’m going to sell. I wanna lose everything except my account balance and my other blizzard games, but basically I want nothing to do with wow. So if I do that will that close my wow account? Which is what I want so that even in few years if I decided to come back to wow it would take me 7 to 10 years to get my stuff back and that would stop me from coming back. Thanks for the answer.

P.S I cashed all my gold into account balance and have pets worth about 2 tokens and some gold enough for 1 more token. So you can’t have my gold.

Everything will still be there. You just won’t have a character to use them on.

If you really want to delete your WoW account permanently, you may have to submit a ticket.

I think it’s stuck there.

Sad to see you go and see you in a year or two.

Just…leave.

And let the account lie like a ghost town.

Go play the other stuff.

No reason to delete everything, it’s never deleted anyway, you can always get it back. So, don’t waste the time, just…leave.

Uninstall if you want something cathartic.

You can release or cage/delete most pets but not all. The rest will remain. All mounts and transmogs and achievements will remain. Certain character only achievements would be gone.

Why you would want to delete all that saved progress is beyond me.

Perhaps you can delete all your macros, addons and anything else that could be a real pain to redo should you have the itch to return.

When the new expansions hit, you’ll quickly be behind the gear grind curve. And needing to redo all those macros and addons again will create another layer of resistance.

But your best bet is to change the account password to something really crazy you would never remember and make sure not to save the password anywhere. This way you are guaranteed not to return unless you want to 100% start from scratch. I did this with my Everquest account a decade ago.

Honestly, I think it’s generally stupid to delete a whole WOW account. You’ve spent money on a game you’ve played for who knows how long, just to throw it away? If you want to start fresh make a brand new account.

Honestly if you want nothing to do with it let it go. Forget you have anything.

There are two parts of this - permanently deleting characters and permanently cancelling the account.

If you delete a character, depending on its level, it will remain available to resurrection for a period time. After that, it will be permanently unavailable. However, as I understand it, all your account details (such as pets, mounts, achievements, etc) will be retained on the account.

To actually delete your account, that means deleting your battlenet account.

Blizzard Support - Delete Battle.net Account

It’s not the latter as they have said they want other blizzard stuff

Ah, don’t quit. You worked so hard trying to RL those pugs.

Ah ok, yes reread - to quote a support article:

It is not possible to delete individual World of Warcraft accounts from your Battle.net account.

You can delete Starter Edition accounts. You can also delete your whole Battle.net account.

Exactly his best advice is to just stop. There’s no reason to delete it other than it being such a temptation while it’s there.

I see no benefit of deleting your avis or your account. You could probably leave them there for years and they would still be there when you returned.

This is what I’ll probably do. I played SL for about 4 months I think then came back to DF after I saw a sale offer on it from my battle net app that’s why I came back which was being gone about 18 months so. I’ll just forget I have a wow account and call it a day. Thank you all for the input and feedback.

No, you do not lose all of the things you’ve collected by deleting your toons. You can request a removal of WoW from your bnet account and that will permanently delete everything associated with WoW.

Just stop playing, like why do you need to delete anything?
