Question about 6/12 Subscription perks and tokens

Probably a silly question but I haven’t been able to find any discussions on the matter and I’ve never used tokens to pay for WoW before.

Let’s say I have an active 12-month subscription. Would using a token(s), which pushes back the date I am charged for WoW disqualify me from the 12month/6month perk mount/pets?

Seeing as the previous 12 month and current was /is within the 7 year peroid ond you actually paid via credit card for the sub I don’t think it would .

Had to delete previous post 'cause I confused myself after a few edits.

Can you give an example OP?

And post in the customer service subforum also potentially.

Lets say I have a recurring 12 month subscription that is renewed (charged to my card) every January 1st, the next time being January 1st 2024.

By having this recurring subscription I receive the mounts/pets.

If I were to use a token to add game time and push the date I will be charged for 12 months back to February 1st (or more) would I lose the mounts/pets?

I’d defer to a blizzard CM or someone with more knowledge on this - my assumption is, unless a certain mount, pet was due to release and a 6 or 12 month subscriber usually got those and you renewed past that date, I imagine that you wouldn’t get that mount or pet?

But that is just an assumption on my part. Sorry I couldn’t be of better help.

It is.

Blizzard was pretty clear. You have to have paid for at least a month of sub at some point since 2017. I’m pretty sure just about everyone has used real money at some point since 2017

This is a go after Chinese farming accounts not actual WoW players. Basically accounts that have never once paid for anything using real money. They’ve never paid for a thing and have even bought expansions using the token

I used to have a 6 month sub. I started paying with tokens. The renewal date was pushed out every time I popped a token for game time and I did receive all bonus mounts during that time even though nothing was charged to my cc for a couple years.

That ended a year or 2 ago when I didn’t pop a token before game time was up and my cc on the acct had expired. I can’t tell you about anything more recent, so don’t know if there have been changes.

The important thing from Blizzard’s point of view seems to be you have an active (set up to renew) 6 or 12 month subscription. It must have been paid in the past and it must be set up to charge you again in the future.

So yes you’ll continue to get all rewards applicable to the subscription you have active, if you cancel it even if you still have time left you don’t get the rewards so what they most care about is you committing to continue to play and pay them to do so. Buying and applying tokens for gametime just pushes out the time until your next renewal and charge to your credit card, you’re still committing to pay them eventually in Blizzard’s estimation and that seems to be what the system checks for in handing out rewards.

Obviously they could change this at any time but given by buying a token you’re ensuring someone paid them $20 for a month of WoW as opposed to $13/month for 6 month subs there is really no reason for them to do so because they actually earn more money off you padding our your sub that way.
