Questing with voidwalker problem

I was trying out a warlock and using the voidwalker for open world questing. I quickly found that the AOE attack causes VW to pull extra mobs. I have tried to be careful to engage just one mob if possible, but there are plenty of neutral mobs that the VW can aggro if I am not very careful. So what is the suggested method for questing? Should I bring out IMP most of the time, should I just try to be careful all the time when using VW, or should I just let VM aggro extra mobs and not worry about it?

Use it as practice for utilising things like CoE/Gateway/Burning Rush/etc. Or go demo to quest. It’s a legit pita you isn’t wrong.

VW has a tendency to be squishy and pull extra mobs. He has an ability that is an aoe, it damages “nearby” foes and heals it a little bit.

Options are to disable this aoe ability. Use different demons in different situations. Or micromanage you VW as to when it will attack and where it moves to. For instance, set it to passive and you pull the mobs then tell it to attack when the mob has come close enough you won’t aggro anything else.

Vini covers pretty much everything, but I would specifically suggest using the succubus or imp if you want to single target mobs down. Felhunter if you are affliction.

Yeah, I’m found of my glyphed felhunter. Lil Observer guy is so adorable and squishy :relaxed:

/e squeezes her little Squiddly.

I find Demon skin is a win at moment for keeping your pet alive longer. Unfortunately our blueberry is aoe tount and not much we can do unless you want to micromanage your pet. I just puck that talent and i noticed my pet is alive longer, so im able to pull extra mobs. Hope this help a little

I hate it too. Too bad they couldn’t set the spell so it doesn’t affect neutral mobs.

Demon skin is pretty much always overlooked and always useful when new content drops for this reason.
I really wish the talent was beefed up so it made you and your pet feel nice and tanky but instead it just offsets poor pet scaling at the beginning of any new content.
