Questing... Why? Why is it a thing?

Spent $80 and they wanna charge a monthly to quest for an awful amount of hours just to play good raids. Not one person likes questing, everybody complains about it. So why the heck does Blizzard force it. I won’t spend another dime dealing with this garbage. Better yet, JUST ASK if ANYONE likes questing. How is that possible that a huge game developer bans ppl who have no issue paying money on I have others quest for them and they don’t care to change it. Make it better. There’s mods for “autopilot” hahahaha!!! Legit mods to help you not care about the gameplay. Just a ploy to force bans and make more money. Freakin Blizzard. Well I’d rather burn my house down than ever pay Blizzard another penny.

If I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t play Classic.

For myself, the questing was a major draw to play classic. I really enjoyed it all.

I hope you’re not actually under the impression you speak for everyone with this “no one likes questing” tosh.

(Actually, considering the character and the reference to having spent $80, I think it likely this is in the wrong forum; Modern is indeed a game for people who hate questing and it would not be at all surprising to me that at least one of them would want the gutted shell of questing that’s still there gone as well.)

Questing is as fun as raiding, at least for me.
Heck, anything I do in the game is as fun as everything else.

Questing/leveling is probably my favorite part of the game.

Apart from classic escort quests, I like them. Some of them have like an old phantasy star like feel to them like Col. Kurzen in STV…I get to the end of the cave…my hearth is already on CD. I’m like crap…I didn’t bring any telepipe.

Questing being enjoyable is the main reason I wish Behsten and Slahtz were available in Classic.

I like to pause my experience game at Level X9 and then finish all available quests (and PVP), then re-enable experience gain and move on to the next X9 tier of quests/PVP. This is also done to maximize reputation gains from questing.

If I didnt like questing, I wouldnt have (14) characters on (2) accounts, between Level 19 and Level 49.

Questing is the best thing about Classic.

  • I don’t have to be online at a specific time.
  • I don’t have to be stuck with roles and responsibilities assigned by others.
  • I don’t have to use irritating voice chat/discord stuff.
  • Questing starts and ends at my own leisure.

I know you’re thinking, ‘But it’s an MMO!’ Well, MMOs became annoying with the current player base (or maybe they’ve always been annoying?) and frankly I enjoyed that aspect of the game much more over a decade ago when I played Wrath. Right now, the journey through questing while doing occasional dungeons is what I like most.

Questing is my favorite thing about classic

Sounds like you are playing the wrong genre of game. Part of playing a true MMORPG game is leveling & questing. WoW is actually one of the most simplistic & casual versions of a MMORPG.

Dude, is everything alright at home?

Is this a retail thread? Has to be cause he mentions 80$.

Yes, modern retail is just a daily and weekly quest grindfest.

I mean, aren’t they both kinda like that? Not saying it’s an issue, but they both have a lot to grind out. I like them both for separate reasons.

obvious troll post

dudes first thread and hes posting on a lvl 51 retail character that questing is pointless. its not even an intelligent attempt at trolling. to put it into perspective, its about a 60iq troll attempt. dudes probably like 15 years old

Not really. In classic, the closest we come to a weekly quest is basically to do the raid, and thats it. There aren’t any quests the game is driving you to complete on repeat as part of the central experience of the game.

In retail, you get a laundry list a bajillion miles long of dailies and weekly quests to do, with heavy integration to other aspects of the game, like rep, or equipment, or patterns etc. It is a core part of the gameplay loop and you are expected to do these chores if you want to progress your character. Its an awful experience, completely removing the freeform pattern of play that made classic fun.

There is certainly grind in both. However, in Classic, your grind is much more player decided. In Retail Blizzard largely decided the grind for you. That is one of the major issues I have with Retail.

Questing is the main reason I wanted Classic back.

I’ve been to exactly one raid once - ZG – (and I have three level 60s and have played since day 1) .

I’ve maybe been on about 20-30 dungeon runs total.

I can’t imagine wanting to hop on the raiding treadmill again, but that’s just me.

Questing is a thing because early feedback from vanilla beta was that just grinding mobs EQ style was boring.

Either that or his main account got banned because he paid for a character leveling service for classic.
