Is an exercise in extreme frustration without flying. Way too linear and way too much vertical variation when trying to get from point A to point B. I’ve literally wasted hours just trying to get to a quest NPC or in the right zone where I need to quest. Worst zone ever, sorry.
You are so right,
I try not to go there!
Same. Only go there when I have to.
I love the theme and graphics of the zone. Sorry your quest objectives and routes weren’t 10 feet from each other so you could finish the area in 30 mins.
Didn’t had the problems you mention. There is usually clear paths to reach your target, you just have to look at the map.
I agree, it is the worst zone for navigating. The only thing that makes it even the slightest bit better are slow fall mechanics. I highly suggest going to Ardenwield and getting the Hearty Dragon Plume toy, it’s a 10 second slow fall on a 15 minute cd. Saves a little on goblin Gliders if you are a class that doesn’t have a slow fall spell.
great zone once you know where elevators are and have gliders. Much quicker than moving in other zones
It’s more that it is so unclear as to WHERE the quest is located. It could be five yards away but up a cliff. And then you have to find a way to get up the cliff, which may or may not be nearby. I agree that it’s a beautiful zone, and I love the aesthetics, but it is by far the most painful of the four to traverse (five including the Maw).
Umm…I do this even with the weird restrictions, so stop calling people lazy. I just take the paths of least resistance when doing WQs.
I like the zone, the fact that it is just one massive castle is cool. Now Maldraxxus, god I hate that zone. It would be cool if Revendreth used the grappling hook system from Legion.
I believe they have this in the Maw. You have to purchase it from Ve’nari. Putting it on the Revendreth quartermaster wouldn’t be a bad idea.
Edit: Had a brain fart when I wrote the zone name.
Hyperbole? Unless you were RP walking across the zone…
They do, I bought it a while back.
You don’t need the grapple hook in Maldraxxus, you can just use the already-available stalks on the large mushroom caps, then dbl-jump glide your way across the larger caps.
Yea I avoid this zone for the most part. So much for Blizzard wanting us to appreciate there work on the ground. Would appreciate it alot more if I wasn’t aggrivated the whole time trying to do the same daily chore over and over again fo months.
I literally will never go to that zone the entire expansion
The zone itself is stunningly beautiful in design and execution. Traveling through it though is miserable so I avoid it like the plague.
Hours in total since I chose my Covenant. It’s not fun spending time going from point A to point B only to find out that the place you need to go is either vertically up or down and then having to backtrack to an elevator that takes you to a sprawling, linear pathway to the objective. It’s not a fun zone to play.
You must be new around here. Never forget Blades Edge and Highmountain.
If you’re “wasting hours” moving around, then you’re either exaggerating, or have no sense if direction, just saying.
Flight really is the problem, when you think about it. Vanilla zones didn’t have a lot of super high landscapes because we were always going to be grounded. Now they design zones with all crazy landscapes because eventually we’ll all have flight and can bypass any obstruction.
