Questing in Elwynn Forest

I finished the Nelf starting zone and want to make the journey to Elwynn forest and do those quests before starting Darkshore. Are there any negatives to doing this…besides the corpse runs of course lol. I remember enjoying the human starting zone back in vanilla.

If you want to do Darkshore then there’s no real point in making the run to Stormwind at your level. The only reason to do that would be if you wanted to get right into Westfall.

Other than the negative of rolling a Night self, no nothing bad about it.

To clarify myself, if you want to go to Elwynn just for the enjoyment of doing the quests then by all means go for it. Just from the context of your post, asking if there’s negatives, I assumed an optimization point of view and in that sense it wouldn’t really be beneficial.

Ok thanks. Yeah not looking for any optimation benefits, I just like that area.

You are supposed to leave Darnassus at level 5 if you plan to do this. But at this point you can continue the leveling path of Auberdine/Darkshore whatever or Westfall.

touché…fair enough.

There is only 1 death if you do the wetlands skip trick. No worries on the corpse runs.

For giggles/fun? There is no downside.
If you’re aiming for specific rep? You should probably have gone earlier.
If you’re just trying to level? You may as well just do Darkshore.
If you’re going on a site seeing tour, grabbing Flight Paths, visiting your favorite cat lady? Probably a good plan.

My Human, I mean High Elf Mage, Warlock & Paladin all left Elwynn Forest after level 5 for Teldrassil and went straight to the Night Elf starting zone. They are currently in Darkshore leveling.

Yes, it is possible and I see plenty of Night Elves running the opposite way on my Wetlands run back to Darkshore.

If you are a Druid, then you will have to go back to Darnassus every 2 levels to learn new spells. And Night Elf Hunters can only learn to tame pets in Teldrassil at level 10 (other players said this in General Chat). And this is why my Humans, I mean High Elves hearthstone is still set for Stormwind (yes, I know I can change this to Iron Forge instead).

Well, apart from not getting full XP (13 is high for EF) or full rep, no drawbacks.

You do not have to go back to Darnassus to learn Druid spells. There’s a druid trainer in the SW park.

Hunter quest for pet taming is learned in native area at level 10 and is race-specific.

Enlighten me if you will.

If you die at a certain point it’ll put you at a graveyard in a different zone bypassing pretty much all of the zone.

No, it won’t. Although it is true that this ability existed in the game until Cata, the ability to corpse-walk graveyards has been removed from Classic. All a dead walk to another graveyard will get you is rezzed in the gy you died near.

It hasn’t though. I watched a video of people doing a foot race when Classic came out and someone died and got to the other grave yard, Spirit Ressed, and then won.

Does. Not. Work. Try it yourself

OMG, now I’m so envious. Why can’t Darnassus get a mage, warlock, and paladin trainer? There are lots of empty buildings too.

^So don’t flame me. lol

You just made me realize that I said Elwyn Forest, what I meant was Westfall. Maybe swing by Hogger on the way and annihilate that f***er.

And a male no less.

To think people believe that the Horde is the ugly faction.

haha have played for 15 years and have never rolled an Orc anything.
