So per the patch notes, this feature was added:
" * When quests are completed, all appearances from non-cosmetic item rewards will now be granted, regardless of if that particular class can see or choose them or not. This should apply retroactively to all quests previously completed."
First, I expected to see many, many transmogs fill in, including Dragonflight sets for questing, or the various Hallowfall ‘World Drop’ sets, given that they are ‘Non-Cosmetic’ Item rewards that have appearances. Perhaps I misunderstood what that meant, but honestly, the verbiage here seems clear. Retroactively, if we’ve completed a quest, we should have all transmog that quest could give, right? Unless it is specifically a cosmetic reward, like the torches that you can get in Hallowfall. (Pink Corners on the item)
I can understand the retroactive portion of this not being fully functional, as it’s a lot of data suddenly being added to an account! There’s almost certainly some bottleneck there of needing to activate it in groups of accounts or something, right? That makes sense.
What doesn’t make sense is that this feature is not functioning at all.
Last night, I completed the quest ‘Embassies and Envoys,’ which lists almost every ‘Algari’ Weapon as a quest reward, with a selection based on class. I completed it on a Death Knight, so my choice was between the Algari Greatsword and the Algari Short Axe. I chose the Greatsword, and did receive the Short Axe appearance, as well, but I did not receive any of the other appearances, at all. I did not receive the Spear, despite the feature listing that I would receive the appearances for all non-cosmetic items, “Regardless of if that particular class can see or choose them or not.” I do have some screenshots to prove this system is not working, as well, but don’t really feel I should have to stick them in an imgur link or something to share them, and don’t know if/how to embed them in this post.
It appears that if this new system is working at all, it is not working for everyone, and while the retroactive thing is disappointing, I am curious to know why it is not working at all in the form it appears to be made for.
