Two issues - bad re spawn time for quest mobs and mobs soothed do not count towards quest.
Happening for me too
Just spent 30 minutes standing around with probably 200 people swarming the area. Only managed to tag 1. Gave up. Easily one of the worst designed quests in a long time.
Sometimes I wonder what it’s like to be put in the mind of a quest designer but I fear I would get stuck since I’d be too uselessly stupid to get back to my mind.
Appears to be two issues. Abysmal Quest NPC respawns and the fact that selecting the wrong dialogue option makes the target hostile. These two factors combined are also a recipe for griefing; which appears to be happening now on Blades Edge as random players from opposite factions on both sides will run up to the NPC and immediately start clicking it to get it into combat. Now this could just be the majority of people being dumb but either way they need to decrease the spawn timer, the other issue would likely sort itself out over time.
Just spent 45min trying to get just one, I thought I got it soothed but did not count for me and was killed way too fast. This is not a good design at all.
Honestly it feels like this could’ve been avoided if these quests were individually phased, in particular this one and one from the Booty Bay questline.
Only one issue, the quest designer never tested this.
In the past, that could be just a small issue.
But now, it implies Blizzard has no QC and this small quest strongly indicates upcoming Dragonflight patches will be big failure.
We already see the how the developer of Diablo 4 eagered to survive and testers participated to a degree Blizzard never had. That means they are CAPABLE to do thing right.
On the other side, WoW. this kind of quest is so called “RED FLAG” it is so bad that it should never ever happened, but now it happened, so WoW is hopeless.
Flag WM and come back. Find a mage for your group and its two easy ports.
This quest needs to be hot fixed ASAP
why does blizzard insist on releasing poorly designed content? I server hopped to 10 servers and couldn’t get one single credit.
Two problems: 1) respawn rate. WTF BLIZ!! 2) people are killing them instead of talking to them.
Solution: 1) Change it so they don’t despawn. 2) Make the npcs non-attackable
my last and probably most favorite suggestion is NOT making stupid things like this. If your intent was to make people angry and blow up the forums, then you succeeded.
Big ole FAIL for blizzard
This quest is the Worst I have EVER seen. Not only is the quest bugged with EXTREMLY low respawn times but you are pretty much stuck in the area until you get it finished. POOR FORM BLIZZARD
yeah come on Blizzard. these quests have been rather fun up until now. Looks like I left the worst til last
at the very least give credit to everyone who tags the mob, not just the lucky person who talks to it
Spawn is silly, been here 30 mins, have 1
Small Indie Company.
