I have dropped and re-taken it 3 times. just using the npc to restart doesn’t work either.
i have spent much (tedious) time balancing the water and dirt. Ev en when "balanced according to Roska, i get no progress on digging up the body and sometimes i don’t anything to interact on the body.
I had the same experience. I kept trying for almost half an hour. Changing my positions, using different stuff but it just kept dropping to zero. Some of the time it was right after I started it. Looks like maybe a phasing issue.
i was seeing players appear and disappear randomly. i never got any progress on the bar though. this last attempt i appeared to be using the pick axe after the dirt de-spawned but still no progress.
it is bugged for me too. I do not understand how to do the quest. First it says needs water, then dirt. but no dirt around.
I keep going to 65-95 percecnt and then it resets. When I try to grab dirt, I have to talk wto the npc, then I come back and it resets. Just bugged out.
The mud despawns as soon as the totem is placed, or you moved, and your totem keeps despawning randomly when it’s replaced. No mud to balance the water totem. Logging out and back in does nothing to fix it. Constant lag. Unplayable.
This is so frustrating. I was excited to have archaeology back but it is not working.
This quest doesn’t work.
Its because everyone else around you affects the earth to water ratio.
i legit had to camp the area until late at night when most players were asleep, to finally get it completed. before i could finally get it done, i was raging due to the numerous alliance players attempting it. see, this is EXACTLY WHY blizzard needs to finally get rid of the faction language barrier between horde and alliance players, since both factions are supposed to be living in peace, now
Bar resets, dirt piles vanish. Why does Blizz even bother? Just remove this poor attempt of Archelogy. We all know you are not going to fix it and abandon it just like you did with Archeology.
Terrible bugged, I’ve tried for 40 minutes and gave up
I was having the same issues, but if you speak to the quest giver the dirt respawns
Attempting it now and it gets to 90% and then resets. Too many people around doing this. I think this is now my most hated quest.
i just tried it and got all excited because i was actually uncovering the body, unlike yesterday. then it de-spawned and the body was covered up again.
If only Blizzard actually really tested these things before dumping them in to “live” and expecting the customer to tell them what’s wrong with it. We’re basically their free labor quality control experts.
i was finally able to do it when i got there and was alone. yeesh
This almost sounds like the players need to be phased away from each other. Like with the “hidden barrels” world quest or “make a potion by clicking on correct item” in the emerald dream.
Still bugged.
