Unsure what to do here. The quest icon pops up above the head of Genn Greymane, but I can not click or interact with him to get the quest to start the Mechagon area.

I am having the same problem. Sent in a ticket. Got automated response back.
I double checked the requirements which seem to be only friendly with your three factions. I have the exclamation mark over Genn’s head and the map shows that its for Send the Fleet. When I click on him, he just stares at me.

I’m having this issue as well. Not sure if the other two posters are trying to do this quest on a character that has changed from Horde to Alliance, but I am at least (on a panda hunter).

This is exactly what’s happening with me. I haven’t had any toons I’ve faction changed.

yup same exact issue, put in a ticket after 32 hours got an automated response that was entirely unhelpful now it says i need to wait 3 more days for any kind of help.
If you are attempting to do this so that you can unlock mecha gnomes and think that you can just get the achievement on horde let me save you a bunch of time because i just did all that and you STILL will have to come back on Alliance to to unlock mechagon which will be impossible with genn bugged.
I’ve also reached out on twitter and got no response.
Yup seems to be an issue involving the faction change, as i also changed factions in an attempt to unlock mecha gnomes. glad to see i’ve wasted money only for that to be the very cause of the bug.

I am experiencing this same issue (same quest) on a fresh alliance mage (lv58)…no faction change involved.
If you look at the top issues on this forums, i count at least 5 different quest givers ( spread through various expansions and zones ) that are acting the same way. Something was broken with the 9.2.5 patch that affects numerous quest givers…many of which completely block off all progress to complete zones of the game and/or covenants.
After some days parked in Dalaran, I was able to go back and pick up this quest from Genn. Hopefully you guys can now as well.
