I was able to do one of them before the reset, but not the one I need for both achievements. Today it is broken again, but the quest I needed is up. Classic.
I did the following: switched to the regular flying, mount up, pick up the quest and it worked. I was able to complete the race and get the achievement
Hm, I tried that (mounted, regular flying) just now and it didnât. Sigh.
damn, itâs so frustrating, Blizzard should, at this point, just give the Achivement. These bugs are not acceptable.

Here I thought it was fixed and low and behold, the game flips me out of Steady Flight and into Sky Riding. You watch the load screen of the zone your supposed to go, then it reloads back to Dragon Flight Zone screen. You have a few seconds to click on the restart quest or you get dropped into random locations in Waking Shores.
The last three times I was falling into ground and took 1.2 million damage and because I used my teleport, I had to fly back twice. Now I lived, but had I died, and yes, I know itâs no big deal to some of you, but the death statistic makes me so furious, especially death by a game bug that is so low priority to fix.
- Edit: On my 22nd attempt to do this quest. Getting good at not dying. And tired of having to fly across two zones to get back and try again.
Still broken! Been trying for over a month 
I literally gave up on trying to do the dragon riding quest. Got tired of trying to get the quest to work where sometimes it would work then other times spend 10+ times nearly dying sometimes. My faith in Blizzard fixing bugs took a major hit on content they break to introduce new features.
I literally had this problem for the last 4 months and still had it todayâŠBUT I disabled all my addon and entered the quest instance by accepting the quest and it allowed me to do it instead of sending me to Waking Shore. I finished the achievement today finally.
