Quest pointers

will the quests have the quest pointers? if i remember correctly, original wow didnt show the quest locations on the map. you had to read it and figure it out.

is that the version we are getting? or am i remembering incorrectly?

Yep. No hand holding here, folks.
Really gonna mess with people who’ve forgotten how to read over the years.

You are remembering correctly. There wasn’t a pointer to point you in the direction or blue areas on your world map to show you exactly where to go.

I do remember some people used mods to do those things though. I didn’t, and don’t plan to this time around. It’s more immersive to me not having something showing me exactly where to go guiding me. The quest text does that. :slightly_smiling_face:

You will have to alt tab, 2nd monitor, or install an app. Just like the olden days.

Edit: oh yeah, or have a good memory too

Or engage with the local chat, also like the old days.

Err, no don’t do that. People still won’t tell the barrens that Mankrik’s wife had a name change to Miss Beaten Corpse.

i am a person who enjoys only questing and story at this point. although it will be harder, it will be more “adventurous” to have to find the quest objectives vs being told to go here and kill 10 rabbits.
I am a person who does not enjoy raiding, dungeons, pvp or world quests. I enjoy just plain old questing. I think this will be great for me. My mindset will change. it will no longer be the race to max level to get my purples, it will be to take my time and enjoy the road getting there.

Yep, you’ll have to download a quest helper addon or alt tab out to wowhead for every quest like a real man because Classic isn’t a game for wimps but for tuff guys. Yeah!

I’m pretty confident there will be quest helper addons that show where all the quest objectives are on the map like questie on PServers. But if you’re one of those no add-on people then no you’ll be reading quests and figuring it out or alt-tabbing.

That was an awkward thing to explain to Mankrik.

“Not only is she dead, sir, she apparently had remarried too. I’m so sorry.”

Wrath didnt even have an arrow telling you where to go.

but you could look on the map to see where it was. in vanilla there was reading and websearches

No, although I recall there were addons early on people had that inserted them.

Nah, that never worked :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey now, every now and then it wouldn’t result in more people added to the ignore list, and those instances should be celebrated.
