Quest payments too low in early levels

Okay so this is my second topic in just hours…sigh. Why can’t we have more silver in early levels. Every time I begin a char, the payoff for a quest is so little that it’s pretty impossible to move on. We need potions for health, money for repairs, and money to purchase our spells from our trainers. And the amount that we are given at the end of each quest is way too little to enjoy the game :frowning:

This isn’t retail. You don’t get spood fed gold for no reason. Low level quests give small rewards, and the rewards grow in value as you go higher in level. Good luck and have fun!

Sell low level mats early on to make some cash, and you do not have to buy every single skill and rank out there. If you are a combat sword rogue for example, why in God’s name are you purchasing and skilling up backstab, ambush and such? You can always get those later when at max level you are more flexibly changing spec to suit gear or your needs. I found that was the number one issue I had early, buying 3+ skills that I never needed. Or purchasing ranks on skills that never needed to go past base level or the net gain was so low it was a waste until I had more gold and enemies lived longer.

Loot everything. Vendor everything. If you run addons the addon Vendor Price will tell you the vendor price of everything… obviously… You don’t need potions or really money for repairs early on. You only need to train spells you will absolutely use all the time. For instance as a rogue I wouldn’t train all the poisons because I knew I would never use them. Same with expose armor. Spells you will rarely use are a waste of money until 60. You can absolutely make enough money early if you loot and vendor literally everything.

On my server you can get gold for light feathers, light leather, wool cloth etc. I was selling Wool Cloth horde side for 4g a stack. Yes just get an addon. If you are leveling like normal the drops can be worth gold so just auction house the more valuable ones.

Potions are a luxury, not a necessity. Don’t spend money on them in the early levels. Either craft them, or loot them from chests or off mobs.

Depending on what class you play, you shouldnt have to spend that much on repairs unless you’re dying a bunch, or getting hit a lot.

Buying spells and learning professions is something that could’ve maybe been a little cheaper. I understand the reasoning behind it, and I don’t really dislike how it works since you do have to actually spend your coins right to learn the more valuable skill.

During my first character I always had enough money for the skills and crafting profession, but it nearly left me broke every time. At one point I didnt even have enough for a flight to my current questing zone, but that’s my own fault for not paying more attention to what I was paying for. I had to walk all the way back.

Over all, just be smart about your money and you’ll find that you probably have enough to get by.

Oh well. If the game’s not for you, then it’s not for you.

I know a game where you get tons of money rained on you from the sky and don’t have to train at all, and you barely have to worry about repairs because you can beat a dozen enemies into the ground easily unless you’re in a raid. Try that game instead.

Just kill everything and sell the junk. Everything in classic is just slow. Or be like asmongold and have classic players literally give away thousands of gold.

Because gold is much stronger in this game. The player is shown this early on by increasing training costs and entry level riding.
You wont find much else in terms of currency here.

It sounds like you’re asking for inflation. Would you prefer everything to be more expensive, just so the amount you have is numerically higher?

The only one of those you should actually do is train spells.

Repairing is a trap, until like your 30s/40s. Just replace the gear with random quest greens when it breaks.

Health potions are also a trap. Vendor them for extra money instead. Don’t use that crap, it’s not worth it. Just play smarter instead.

Honestly just figure out what low level stuff goes for high prices.

Get a gathering profession or two and watch the gold roll in… there’s a lot of low level stuff that’s selling for outrageous prices because few people farming it…

Translation: “Let’s change the WoW Classic Museum piece even more because I’m from the lazy generation that wants everything to be spoon-fed to me.”

Quest rewards are low; they’re supposed to be. You don’t even start getting green-level items as options in quest rewards until, what, level 10? 15? No, Leveling in Classic is not “hard,” per se. But it takes time, which today’s player is unwilling to put in to a game. “I’m paying a fee, everything should be showered upon me!”

WoW was originally built by players, for players, and those player-creators came from the generation that played pencil-and-paper RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, where if the DM was picky you could have your characters suffer perma-death just because you forgot to pack water before crossing a desert. The little details in the original WoW like needing reagents, needing arrows and poison supplies, and paying to learn skills were straight out of the original table-top games.

Please stop demanding that the original details of the game be changed just because you’re lazy, okay?

Try to see if someone in a city will hook you up with some inexpensive bags, that way you can loot more and vendor more as well.

Just another Retail troll on the Classic forums. Nothing to see here.

The real question is why didn’t Blizzard rebalance gold drops in 40 man raids after Naxx was released? Ony may very well be the poorest adult dragon to ever live in a fantasy game…

this lol, I was leveling a sham on another server just casually. Granted it was a heavy horde server but I was just messing around killin the harpies in the barrens I literally made like 30 gold from light feathers.

Loot and sell everything.

Take herbalism + skinning/mining.

Don’t buy skills you don’t need.

Play without potions as a crutch.

Don’t buy gear on the AH.

Problem solved.

I dont about that D, considering the price of health potions is almost trivial (subjective), its worth having a few on hand.
And if he’s leveling a rogue in classic, those should be the last thing he is buying.
